750mL bottle, courtesy of hoppymeal. Thanks, Derek! Pours a hazy, reddish-orange tea color; light tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of sticky, pine and citrus bitterness in the aroma; grapefruit, chewy sugar, and candy sugar. Medium-to-full, sticky mouthfeel: lots of sticky sugar, candy sugar, and citrus / earthy maltiness; definitely errs on the malty side of things; lots of sugar and dried fruits / caramel. Lengthy finish, showing sugar and toasted malts and breadiness. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - FEB 27, 2008
Courtesy of kmweaver. Hazy amber with a small beige head. The nose is bright citrus, orange, grapefruit, caramel and cotton candy. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter with lots of caramel, ice tea, grapefruit, pine and tangerine. Medium/full body is chewy with moderate carbonation. joe1510 (501) - Illinois, USA - FEB 23, 2008
I have to give a big thanks to Derek for sending this my way. Good Feller empties into my glass a chill hazed ruby that glows when backlit. A fingers worth of cotton white head grew on the pour and eventually receded to a skim coat with a thick ring around the glass. Leaves respectable lacing after each sip before slowly sliding back into the body.
As I stick my nose in the glass I’m immediately hit with big sticky pine, lightly sweetened grapefruit, ripe pineapple and a touch of spicy alcohol. There’s even the aroma of that aspirin like bitterness associated with amarillos. The caramel maltiness is sweet and drizzled throughout. The hops are big and bold but the caramel stands up to the challenge. This beer makes my mouth water.
The flavor stands up to the aroma and follows the same lines. All at once juicy pineapple, lightly sugared grapefruit, pine all drizzled with caramel wash over the tongue The intensity of each coming forward as the drink continues. What really makes Good Feller stand out is how seamless each transition is. Everything comes together to create an excellent, well rounded IIPA.
This isn’t a mnster that stomps on every tastebud but it does leave a solid bitterness after a few sips. The bitterness just seems to build. The body teeters in between heavy and moderate leaning more toward the latter. The body isn’t as thick and sweet as many other examples which makes this top notch.
Good Feller is far to easy to put away. For such a big beer the alcohol is dangerously well hidden and every sip leaves you wanting another.
This is my second offering from Short’s and both have been nothing short of great beers. Good Feller is a joy for sure and one I wouldn’t hesitate picking this up if I was fortunate enough to be in the area. Thanks again Derek! I can’t get enough of this IIPA.

Poured a hazy amber color with a large beige head. Big citrus and sweaty hop forward aroma. The flavor started with some sweet malt and ended moderately bitter. Medium to full body. Pretty tasty. pnista (1007) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - JAN 2, 2008
Looks great. A rih copper amber reddish with a textbook white head. this is what an IIPA should smell like. Big Amarillo hops. Smells like a grown up Gumballhead with some light and caramel malt sweetness giving it a backbone. Full creamy mouthfeel. A bit higher in the carbonation. Big hops with a strong malty background. Reminds me of Alpha King a bit. Though definitely imperial. A bit garlicy on the hop flavors. Tastes a little like older Hop slam. Not bad, but disappointing after that nose!

Bottle at the Yeah 07- from Hopdog? I think this was opened at the hotel, as my handwriting is absolute crap at this point. Pours medium orangey amber with a nice tight head. Aroma is awesome fresh citrusy hops, grapefruit salad (wtf?) and tropical fruits like mango. Flavor is sharp citrus and pine hops upfrotn but is a bit weak in the middle- then more tacky tropical fruit hops in the end. I was drunk, but really diggin this IPA. Nice. masonjer (609) - Holt, Michigan, USA - JAN 1, 2008
750ml bottle. Drank this on New years eve. Smelled of nice citrus and some sweet malt. Taste was nice hoppy punch, citrus, slight lemon tartness, nice malt backbone, pine and tropical fruit. Nicely balanced and fresh. I thought they did a great job with this one. hopdog (12544) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 17, 2007
750ml bottle. Poured a deep and cloudy amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, tropical fruits, and light caramel. Tastes of citrus, caramel, pine, and fruity. Medium alcohol burn in the finish. Man, I really need a Shorts connection! Ungstrup (37600) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 1, 2007
Bottled. An amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet hoppy, which gives it notes of grass and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of grass, grapefruit, and alcohol. The alcohol burns on the palate.
