Draft at HOTB. Aroma of nuts and caramel. Extremely good mouthfeel. Velvety. Creamy. Texture is outstanding. Medium-heavy body. Hazelnut notes and some roasted malts lead the way to a smooth beer. Well done brown.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a dark brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy cream colored head that left good lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, graham cracker and dust. The flavor was toasty and dusty with a sawdust presence, cracker, wood and a bit of fruity hops. Surprisingly dry. Long finish. Medium body. Pours brown with small head, notes of pumpernickel, ashy rye, and bready malt. Maybe decent for an English type but not a big fan overall.

Tap industry. A darker beer. Mild cloying sweet perfume aroma. Simultaneously bitter and sweet at the same time on the tongue. What a unique combination for a beer, never had anything like this that I can remember. Big upfront alky kick. Nearly flat. Good toffee and caramel malt smell with an undertone of hops and booze. Muddy brown the terms almost a cherry red when backlit. The would be overpowering boozy flavor is quickly deterred by the floral hops. This brew pours a deep amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt butterscotch and fruit. 12 oz. bottle on Christmas Eve, served in a shaker- poured a darkened brown with a maroon tint when held to a light source, low carbonation, thick off white head with a solid ring about the vessel and alot of frog eyes. Aroma of nuts, toffee, and a hint of molasses. Hits the mouth with a medium body, feels like a roasted malt on the back end of the tongue, middle has a spot of cream, finish is sweet, nutty, and dry. WOOHOO!- that’s what I wrote in my notebook, it must have been real good!
