3.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured into a Samuel Adams "Perfect Pint" glass. The appearance on this one is a really hazy yellow color. The head isn’t very big, and doesn’t last long at all. Very little lacing left in the glass as well. Aroma is unbelievable, and one of the best smelling beers I’ve ever whiffed -- massive grapefruit and tropical smells... truly outstanding. Unfortunately, the taste was a bit of a let down. The front of each sip tasted almost exactly like the aroma -- sweet, grapefruity. The rest of the sip and aftertaste though was primarily of bitterness, and it didn’t have me jumping up and down. The carbonation isn’t harsh, but the bitterness in this make it much more of a sipper’s IPA. This site calls it a pale ale, but Hopstache is no doubt an IPA. A fantastic smelling beer, but a slight let down flavor-wise.
12 ounce bottle from Elmer’s Escanaba. Murky dark orange, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of grainy toffee malt, syrupy grapefruit. The taste is grapefruit zest, grainy caramel malt. Medium bodied. ogivlado (8108) - Zagreb, CROATIA - MAR 22, 2017
Bottled 355ml. -no ABV stated at the label or bottle. Unclear golden coloured, small to medium sized white head, grapefruity nose. Sweetish malty, slightly biscuity, grapefruity hoppy, pine, notes of oranges and rather bitter finish. Very good one. Block (3183) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - MAR 21, 2017
A nice and well rounded IPA. Solid hops, balanced with a good amount of malts in the backbone. Straightforward. justkoehn (171) - Michigan, USA - MAR 18, 2017
Cloudy caramel color. Little head and medium lacing. Hoppy fruit aroma. Light finish with mild bitter finish. Standard IPA

Hopstache, sure, fine, whatever. It is what is, and what it shall be, world without end. Amen. Or not. it is a sassy little weapon in the war we all wage against sobriety but it is NOT the 50 MEGATON WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION that Blatz is. Blatz singlehandedly has kept millions wasted since 1851! Think about it. I have, and I ought to know, I’ve been to Milwaukee. Mark_Eck (1998) - - AUG 23, 2016
Bottle. Pours a golden color. Aroma and taste are citrus, some sweetness, and a bitter finish. Evolutionary (526) - Ohio, USA - JUL 8, 2016
Bottle from Michigan. Nose is hop and citrus and body follows. Bit of mild sugar to balance but not much. Smooth acrid feel with citrus rind finish. Decent to good. Would do again. Plus bottle has an uncle Rico lookalike. blackflag321 (701) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUN 21, 2016
Pretty much a "typical" Shorts IPA, which means it’s pretty good. Yes, there is grapefruit but just a taste. Mildly bitter. chucklemation (1764) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - JUN 2, 2016
Pours a golden yellow color with a foamy white head. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, grassy, and floral hops. Flavor is mainly grapefruit and grass. Has a dry, bitter finish and some carbonation. Good.
