COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A complex malt and hop theme park in your mouth
Huma Lupa Licious’ name derives from the hop plant, Humulus lupulus. It is Short’s best-selling India Pale Ale. Huma Lupa Licious is brewed with five different hop varieties, providing a punch to the palate. Between the beer’s abundance of hops, and the type of hops used in its creation, it has a delicious bitter taste and enticing citrus aroma. The hearty malt bill melds well with the hops for a perfect balance.

Huma Lupa Licious is the product of Joe Short wanting to create the ultimate IPA experience. Originally, Huma Lupa Licious was named Humulus Lupulus Maximus, and went through several recipe changes before settling on the recipe we know and love today.

On Tap - cloudy copper color with nice 2 finger head. Aroma - mango, pineapple, lemon and pine sap. Taste - huge tropical fruit flavors with resiny pine coating tongue. Palate - best part of beer. Perfect medium body and lively carbonation. Resiny sticky hops coat tongue and mouth leaving you with full bitterness throughout each gulp!! Overall - one of my favorite IPAs on tap. Had this from the bottle also and not quite as good. Would be 4.6 on tap.

Pours a cloudy, amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is floral hops with caramel malts and a hint of alcohol. Flavor had some toastyness along with the floral hops and caramel malts.

Clear golden color with off-white head. Aroma has some toasted malt and classic, resiny hops. Some bittersweet orange peel in the back. Taste starts bitter up-front with nice orange peel flavor, pine resin and earthy hops. Bitterness is quite intense but doesn’t really feel harsh. Medium body with smooth mouthfeel. A classic style of IPA but executed really well.

Pours a bright, hazy orange with a full, smooth white head. The aroma gives us a heavier impressions of pine, along with caramel, grassy hops, grapefruit, and resin. The taste has a good bitter kick, though it is a little sweeter than what I was hoping. The main impressions include grapefruit, pine, and sugar, while the minor notes are pineapple, orange, and caramel. A weaker though lingering aftertaste is a sugary grapefruit. Medium in body, with a thicker texture, and average in carbonation. I knocked this one down a bit for the reason that its very sweet.

Bottle. Orange tinted gold, lasting white head. Vegetal, bitter citrus, thin malts, medicinal finish. I’m not feeling the hype behind this beer.

Decent IPA. Pours a beautiful slightly orange haze. Pungent pine on the nose, hits your mouth with citrus hop, then into a lingering grapefruity alcohol on the finish. Not bad at all my friends

Orange pour with a light head. This IPA leans toward the mellow end of the spectrum. Pretty strong, lingering bitterness on the palate. Some nugget perhaps. Fruit salad, orange peel, a little honey. Light aroma for the style.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2017 This is one of my favorite smelling IPA’s, the hops and citrus are so enticing and it looks good. A 12oz bottle would be perfect because the hop backwards bitterness is a bit overpowering. It’s different than other IPA’s, which is cool, but it’s a bit too odd.

pours a hazy orange gold with a medium white head. Big aroma of grapefruit citrus and sweet floral. Hop bitter from the start. full oily mouth feel. Taste some of the grapefruit coming in with a muted but definite malt presence. Long bitter linger. Right in my hophead wheelhouse. Good beer!
