Juicy Tree is an experimental India Pale Ale made with blue spruce tips, juniper berries, and cranberries. Big aromatics of piney evergreen and sweet berries tingle the senses. After some slightly tart and tangy flavors up front, a harmonious balance between pleasant fruit sweetness and bitter pine is reached. The finish is laced with a resiny stickiness that flows naturally into a lasting bitterness.

12 oz bottle - really confused about this one . Pours a clear orange thin bright white head . Aromas of cranberries and big spruce . Exactly as advertised , tastes like bitter juniper / cranberry / and spruce . The beer drinker in me does not like it , but the inner gin drinker is kind of into it . Interesting .

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2017 Draft. Aroma is mimld. There's plainly IPA at the base of this, but the spruce tips and juniper berries really carry the flavor forward without being overwhelming. The cranberries add sweetness and then tartness, which balances out the beer. Clever, wonderful.

Clear with a very slight hazy golden and copper coloured body, complete with a small single centimetre tall off-white head with hardly any movement at all noticeable. Aroma of sweet resinous and syrupy/sappy notes with some bright hop bitterness from pine and grass with an almost cherry or sour fruit scent right at the end. Medium-bodied; Assertive syrupy and very resinous piney flavours with a lot of bitterness, pungency and dry malt flavours with some sweetness at the end from the resin, but this is all about the very dry, sprucey and piney notes that hit with bitterness throughout this one. Aftertaste is relatively straight-forward sappy, piney and bitter with some noticeable sweetness as well. Overall, an IPA-ish beer with a lot of spruce and pine, perhaps more than I’ve had in most beers of this style that works out relatively well, but not perfectly. Nice to try, but not very recommended for people who don’t like bitter beer, IPAs or piney beers (of course). I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Grape Vine in Sterling Heights, Michigan on 09-December-2016 for US$2,99 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia about a month later on 14-January-2017.

Has the hoppy aroma I look for. Taste is very good and not overly sweet as in some 7.5 abv beers. Smooth finish in the palate I was very impressed by this "experimental beer.

Sampled at Cambridge, pours hazy yellow golden. Vicks vapor rub, medical balm, and infected juniper berries. God help us at this shorts event.

Wasn’t a fan. Aromas of wet pine, juniper berries, heavy gin aromas. Flavors of pine, more pine, gin, acetal, juicy fruit gum finish. Wet on the palate, finishes dry.

Aroma is juicy, juniper berries, tropical fruit, cranberries, pine. Appearance is dark straw yellow, hazy as hell, white head. Taste is cranberries, juniper, citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple, pine, it’s pretty weird, not sure how I feel about it yet. Mouthfeel is medium body, very light carbonation, a crazy juniper and cranberry aftertaste lingers. Overall, this is a weird one. Definitely different for an IPA but not all too bad.

Bottle. The pour is a yellow, mild haze. The aroma is essentially a gin and tonic. The taste is a little wild. Has some of the gin, certainly the pine needles, and a bitterness from the hops. Taste does not really match the aroma. Interesting, but not something I would drink more than one of.

Aroma is nice but has a bit of floor cleaner feel to it. Taste is far too bitter. Way way too bitter.
