A gentle mixture of elegance and redolence for any occasion.
Northern Michigan spiced wheat ale. A 50% mixture of premium two-row malted barley and malted white wheat makes golden wheat ale balanced with Ahtanum and Cascade hop varieties. This ale is spiced with fresh grated lemon and orange rind, coriander, and black peppercorns. It’s truly a fermented wonder of the Short’s Brew formula family.

Tap at St Cece’s Detroit. Slight hazy golden with white head. Lots of herbs, coriander, definately get a lot of black pepper, lemon peel, dough, mustard seeds, bread. Light sweet and very light bitter. Medium bodied with soft creamy feel. Exactly what you’d expect.

Pours a clear pale golden with a decent rocky eggshell head that settles slowly and leaves some foamy, wavy lace. Nose involves subtle spice, zesty lemon citrus, some herbal and almost minty tea-like notes. Somewhat sweet, lightly tart, and somewhat bitter. Light bodied, spritzy and active, lightly oily, finishing dry with herbal zest. Definitely ideal for summer, nice take on the ubiquitous wheat ale. Much easier drinking and lively than many I’ve had.

The most I get in this is pepper. Fairly light and refreshing just a bit too much pepper. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle shared with ebone1988 out of Dumpster Box No. 1. The pour is a nice dark gold color with a thinner soapy white head and a couple spots of lace. The aroma is awful. It's everything I hate about wheat ales and then there is a blast of coriander, which sucks. There is a light peppercorn and a hint of zest, which is the best I can say about this. Dear god, here comes the flavor. It's not good. There is a spiciness to it. Peppercorn and wet dishrag. Lingeringly wheaty and not good at all. I dislike this with much gusto. The mouth feel is terrible as well. Water. All water with no carbonation and a peppery finish. The lingering pepper is all that's left because the liquid falls off the tongue like a ghost wasn't even there. Jesus. Maybe next time, Shorts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled. Pours pale golden. Not sure the date, but not fresh. Old. Aroma is wheat, coriander, lime, orange, estery, an off note I can’t place. Flavor is better than Aroma. Wheat, orange, some spice note. Not bad, but wouldn’t get it again.

(bottle - 12 oz) Hazy gold with a thin white head. Very mild and watery aroma. Some light spices in the flavor but pretty much overly watery and mild. Kind of mediocre. [9/10/15]

Decent for style. On tap at Shorts. Pepper, white wine, coriander, slight orange. After taste is all white pepper.

On tap at Shorts, Pours lighter unclear almost like urine on your second pee after a night of drinking. Aroma brings the citrus zest subtle in the nose and the peppercorns for sure. Again, the balance is so nice, just gentle nudges of the zest in such a clean body with the coriander and peppercorns all over the palate gently and beautifully dancing, but like the palate is a sleeping giant and wouldn’t even know they were there!

Savor 2015. Always make a point to see Short’s if they are there. Nice wheat ale, spice isn’t overwhelming.

2-4 oz bottle pour at SAVOR 2015’s Saturday night session. Clear yellow with off-white head. Aromas of floral and citrus notes. Tastes of malt, light citrus, wheat. Medium-light body with a dry finish.
