Bottle. Deep amber pour with tan head. Nicely balanced brew, taste of caramel and nuts with an herbal hop finish. SpongeRuiner (1114) - Michigan, USA - OCT 21, 2013
Transferring my rating from Beer Advocate. Pretty good stuff. Not the biggest fan of the style but I thought it had a nice quenching quality to it. andrewmb83 (43) - Frankenmuth, Michigan, USA - MAR 3, 2014
12 ounce bottle. Aroma is hop hey with a touch of malt. Appearance is a dark amber, with little head. Flavor of earthy hops balances well with caramel malt. Great medium palate. Good American oktoberfest with larger hop additions then normal, which i like so this may be a touch biased. jgb9348 (6478) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - SEP 11, 2015
Nice super hazy amber and brown coloured body with a thinnish, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, earth, mushrooms and a bit of earthy malt. Medium-bodied; Strong malty and earthy flavours at first with a definite caramel and toffee flavour coupled with the light hops and rich malt. Aftertaste is nice and rich with a lot of caramel and a ton of earth - pungent and strong for the style. Overall, a nice rich marzen with a big earthy character and a decent amount of caramelised sugars. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased in a six pack from Siciliano’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 11-September-2015 sampled while visiting in Northville, Michigan later in the day. gearbike (512) - West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA - OCT 22, 2008
On draft hazzy darkish bronze color. Smell of wheat sweetness. Nice medium malty boddy. Suprised by the tangy hop finish.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate chocolate, caramel, and some spicy hops. It pours a slightly hazy brownish-orange with an off-white head that has okay retention. The flavor starts with lots of chocolate and caramel. The finish has light-moderate earthy and spicy hops along with some light roastiness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. This comes across more like a malty Brown Ale.
Bottle via a trade. Pours with a hazy copper body with a fading tan head. Aroma is sweet, toast, corn, bread, berries, light buckwheat, honey, a touch grassy, some biscuit. A standard but good Marzen aroma. Flavors of sweet, earthy, nutty, caramel, corn, biscuit, quite bitter for the style. Earthy and floral as well. Quite dry. Nicely crisp. Seems like a well made beer to me, quite enjoyable for the style, although not exactly traditional. Lively bubbles, a bit thin, dry and brisk. Lingering bitterness. A tasty beer. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 1, 2010
Clear brown. Aroma of light cocoa, caramel, some citrus hops. Flavor is malty and lightly hoppy. Nothing amazing going on. jtclockwork (17264) - , New Jersey, USA - JAN 2, 2011
Bottle thanks to Styles; shared with jcwattsrugger. Pours brown. Nose and taste of caramel malts and herbal hops. Light pine finish. On the darker side of the style. pellegjr (396) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 22, 2011
