COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strawberry Short’s Cake is a golden ale. The addition of strawberries and milk sugar transform this beer into a rose colored nectar that has hints of cream and is pleasingly sweet. Biscuit flavors and aromas arise from the great amounts of Victory malt used in the brewing process.

Draft at MBG fest (also bottle) combo from notes. Pours a hazy dark golden/amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have strawberries, vanilla cream, and sweet cake like malts, interesting beer and it does what they were going for, but I wouldn’t drink this often.

Bottle thanks to Chad. Pours dark orange. Over ripened strawberry nose. Strawberry shake flavor, medium sweetness. Low carbonation.

Hazy reddish copper with a thin ivory cap. On point nose of pie crust and strawberry and fatty cheesecake. Bright flavor that’s got some strawberry preserves, cheesecake (somehow they got that in a beer?!), pie crust malt and something bland and creamy at the end. Weird but tasty.

Taken from gf. Sweet strawberry, vanilla cake, and sugar. Virtually no head and an ugly murky rose color. Taste of strawberries stay of tart and finish very sweet, the milk sugar really comes through. Sticky, sweet, almost coyingly so. This will be my first and last.

Bottle. Pours a murky brown with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet strawberry, lactose, jam, sweet malt, vanilla. Flavor of sweet strawberry candy, banana, some lactose and sweet malt. I’m not sure this is very cake-y, tastes more like strawberry candy (like a starburst). The lactose adds to the sweetness but softens the palate. Interesting fruit beer. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Sample at Daily Growler UA. Cloudy reddish-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of strawberry and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of strawberry pie filling and doughy malt. The finish is fruity with a strawberry aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Strawberries, milk, biscuit malt and light straw aroma. Dark amber with giant light tan head. Mildly sweet strawberry, biscuit malt, mild lactic acid, and lightly bitter straw flavor. Good body.

Draft at Bainbridge. Murky dark brown peach pour with off-white foam. Strawberry jam. Sponge cake. Vanillin. Milk. Glossy edge. Hints of darker caramels underneath but mostly feels superficial.

Bot. Fruit beer it is, smells like intriguingly malty fruit. Taste is better than expected, was thinking this would be a dull brew but its not. It actually is a sweeter malty brew with shades of strawberry in there. Yes, on the label it says brewed with milk shuggah and you can taste it. Probably could be fermented out a bit more. Lighter maroon color, something you might see in a young american barleywine. Good mild CO2. I want to like this but it is a little cloying on the back end. Reminds me of something I might have had at Beaver brewing. Yea, thanks Dan. weird finish fer sher.
