COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strawberry Short’s Cake is a golden ale. The addition of strawberries and milk sugar transform this beer into a rose colored nectar that has hints of cream and is pleasingly sweet. Biscuit flavors and aromas arise from the great amounts of Victory malt used in the brewing process.

Bottle at bottle share at the Sybarite Pig in Boca. Small snifter. Pours an amber-red copper with a thin, pinkish white head. Well it smells like strawberry short cake. Strawberries, whipped cream, and vanilla. And it tasted like it. Not much explanation needed. They hit the nail on the head with the flavors. I found it too sweet but I guess a strawberry shortcake is sweet. Just not my type of desert.

Bottle from Wegman's. Pours turbid coppery, almost ruby, with frothy off-white head. Nose is creamy caramel malt, mild strawberry. Tastes like a fruitier copper ale, with caramel malt, strawberry, mild hops, citrus, tarter finish as it warms. Decent.

Aroma is strawberries and mild milk sugar. The flavor is slightly zesty strawberries, fruit, slight milk/malts and a sweet/mildly tart finish.

Smells of sweet strawberries, and a touch of cream. The beer pours a hazy reddish-amber with a thin off-white head. Flavor wise, they nailed it. The taste is strawberries, and biscuit, with a hint of creamy sweetness. Light bodied, and very refreshing. This is a nice twist on a classic summer dessert.

Not being a fan of Short’s or Strawberry Shortcake, I can say this about that: "Huh". I’ve had worse, I’ve had better, I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain........or not. This is not Blatz. This is not Crazy Shirley’s Raspberry Disaster. What it is, is what it is, and shall be, Blatz without, end, amen. if you are looking for some fruit with your beer, jam a Strawberry down the neck of your Blatz long neck and choke that MF’er down, and you will truly be "flirting with disaster".

A sweet beer, synthetic flavors. Light a crisp. It’s OK, I didn’t think it was too outstanding.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear reddish brown brew with no head. Aroma of sweet cake, strawberry and hints of ash. Taste is sweet bready malt up front, emerging strawberry tartness in the middle, finishing sweet with indeed a creamy taste. Weird ash tastes pop up in the middle and at the end of the swallow - like when a little cigarette ash blows into your food. Can’t say I like it much.

Draft at MBG fest (also bottle) combo from notes. Pours a hazy dark golden/amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have strawberries, vanilla cream, and sweet cake like malts, interesting beer and it does what they were going for, but I wouldn’t drink this often.

Bottle thanks to Chad. Pours dark orange. Over ripened strawberry nose. Strawberry shake flavor, medium sweetness. Low carbonation.

Hazy reddish copper with a thin ivory cap. On point nose of pie crust and strawberry and fatty cheesecake. Bright flavor that’s got some strawberry preserves, cheesecake (somehow they got that in a beer?!), pie crust malt and something bland and creamy at the end. Weird but tasty.

Taken from gf. Sweet strawberry, vanilla cake, and sugar. Virtually no head and an ugly murky rose color. Taste of strawberries stay of tart and finish very sweet, the milk sugar really comes through. Sticky, sweet, almost coyingly so. This will be my first and last.
