Pours a pinkish copper color with a white finger of fizzy foam. I have to say this beer does smell like strawberry shortcake... Some sweet strawberry syrup, breads cake notes and some vanilla creaminess. The palate follows the nose... Fucking right. If your gonna call a beer strawberry shortcake, this taste like strawberry shortcake. There is a touch of seltzer like background that cuts through the sweetness a touch but I’m pretty impressed by this. firstsip (733) - Michigan, USA - JUL 27, 2014
Tap. Sort of a golden-amber. Bit of head. Smells vaguely of strawberries. Solid mouthfeel. Tastes of real strawberries, bit of breadiness. Definitely tastes like its name, and without being too sweet! Jordtbrooks (20) - Michigan, USA - SEP 9, 2015
Pours gold with very little head. Aroma is of strawberry and bread. Taste is mildly sweet with a sourish strawberry flavor. SuperTiti33 (891) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 3, 2015
Ambré rose. Nez intense de fraise sucré.
Bouche: belle effervescence. Très sucré. Arôme de fraise intense. Gâteau vanillé. Onctueuse. Un vrai dessert aux fraises.

Draft. Stopped in the brewery and had a little sampler of several beers. Reddish/tan color with an ever so slight pinkish head. STRONG strawberry aroma that basically overwhelms all other notes. Very sweet strawberry taste. Medium mouthfeel. A fun beer to drink but not sure if I could really ever drink a 6 pack of this. The sampler size I had was plenty. ketchepillar (1198) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - AUG 11, 2010
Sampled on tap at the MiBGF (Ypsilanti, MI). Holy crap. Aroma is straight strawberry short cake. Really, could fool me in a blind test. Flavor, not really as much but good. Surprisingly still tastes like it is beer-in a good way. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - AUG 21, 2010
thanks ben! Strawberry and crust on the nose, just as advertised. dark gold, small white head. juicy fresh fruit, softens quickly and mellows to a toasty balanced finish, great experience. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - MAY 3, 2011
Thanks to RBlaszak for sharing this bottle. I have heard a lot about this beer so I am glad I got to try it.
The beer pours a reddish-brown color with a large white head. The aroma is heavy on the strawberries with some caramel and bready malt. Very interesting.
The flavor is more complex but just as good if not better. In addition to the strawberries, I get some caramel, graham crackers, vanilla and some light tartness. The fruit in the beer is very juicy and very enjoyable. I am not sure if the tartness is from an early infection or if it is intended, but it adds to the beer’s flavor.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

(It should be noted that I had two of these beers, presumably from the same six pack. The other beer was drank a few days after the one I rated and it was badly infected and undrinkable).
12 oz bottle. This is tough. It actually is a pretty good refreshing ale but it is hardly as sweet as any dessert. Dark peach pour with nice thick head and fabulous retention. Nose is tart strawberry and a bit of yeast. Taste is even fainter strawberry but a nice tart finish. A great summer ale if you can appreciate it for that.
