Bottle pours the darkest brown you can get before calling it black. Nice aroma of toasted malts. Toasty, nutty, lightly smokey flavor. A medium light body makes this a very drinkable beer.

12oz bottle thanks to Spica66 on BA. Pours darkest brown with a nice lacey tan head. The aroma is great - roasty and coffeeish, pretty good. The flavor is very dry and charcoaly. Roast and coffee are big. A little coffee tartness on the finish even. Medium-bodied and dry with a good carbonation level. Great schwarzbier overall, very roasty and intense.

Purchased from Serrafino’s in Richland, Mich. Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a pint glass. This is an "apples n’ oranges" kind’ve beer and to my untrained palate, somewhat conflicting. Never the less, it’s not too bad and I would certainly put back another.

Thanks to Nellie for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a dark brown color with red highlights and a white head. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, burnt malt, dark fruit and smoke. The flavor is heavy on the smoke and roasted malt along with some caramel malt and dark fruit notes in the background. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Thin beer, but black. Caramel and brown sugar. If i was to compare this to Xingu, I’d pick Xingu.
