12oz bottle pours a lightly viscous, opaque black with a spitty, clumpy, off white head. Nose of toasted malts, chocolate, multi grain bread, dried hay, nuts, a little coffee. Flavor is much lighter than the color or nose would let on; watered down malt, light brown sugar, watered down coffee, crackers, a little wheat. Medium bodied, dry finish. Bottle… Pours black with a small, creamy taupe head. The bouquet offers chocolate, mild mocha and light vanilla with a trace of cinnamon. Light to medium-bodied with stinging carbonation. The perfectly balanced flavor presents nuances of espresso and dark chocolate, but seems watered down. Finishes crisp, clean and a touch dry. 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with mikem409. Pours black with a thin-moderate brown head that lasted through the first two sips and leaves a complex network of lace. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt and some char. The flavor is roasted malt with some ash and a bit of tobacco. Mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.

Pours black with a medium mocha head. Aroma is lightly roasted...milky...just a bit of chocolate...earthy and wheaty. Flavor has some roastiness...a bit of black licorice...can’t find a hint of chocolate....and some sort of nasty flavor I can only describe as fishy!? Creamy medium mouthfeel and a fishy aftertaste. had a dark brown (opaque) pour and made a dark tan colored (with some milk shake colored bubbles) two to three finger head, beer left spots and small fingers of lacing on the glass as I drank, I found a thin film of sediment with a half circle of thicker dark brown sediment on the bottom of the bottle,
the aromas were milk chocolate, roasted malt, some malt sweetness and some coffee with a little caramel (I did not get any wheat notes in this beer),
the flavors were dry chocolate, roasted malt, faint coffee (I think there was more coffee on the nose), some caramel and some molasses sweetness,
the finish had a little bitterness from roasted malt?,
the mouth feel was less than medium,
this was nice, an easy to drink beer (I could gulp this down if I wanted to),
I did not sense any wheat in this beer, maybe the wheat gave this beer the light mouth feel I noticed on the palate?
a beer with a nice blend of flavors.
