Humble comfort in every sip
Chocolate Wheat is a Porter brewed with chocolate malt, wheat malt, and well-chosen specialty grains. The combination creates a deep black, full-bodied beer that provides subtle hop flavors and rich malt tones. Chocolate Wheat balances the flavors of roasted caramel, coffee, and chocolate, which ends in a smooth finish.

12oz Bottle. Thanks Sean! Chocolate is a fitting title for this beer, in a good way. The aroma has that fermented then roasted brown aroma that’s really enjoyable. Characteristic house yeast and minerals but in. Hmmm. I was really expecting a sweet, dense, rich wheaty beer after that aroma and then notion of "chocolate." The body is incredibly dry, but structured. A slightly metallic twinge and the hint of ash from the roasted malt. I think this could have gone a number of directions and this one speaks of austerity, straightforwardness, and honesty.

Aroma: Strong dark chocolate note, fantastic. Almost black in color, lasting thin tan head. Chocolate but not much else, a bit watery. It’s good but not fantastic.

Draft at Churchkey. Very dark clear maroon brown color, tan head. Aroma of brownies dipped in coffee. Taste is toasted brownies. Nice.

On tap at Hopcat. The name surprised me. Solid body with dark color. Chocolate aroma and malt.

Bottle poured a black hue w/ a thin dimming tan head. Moderate boozy chocolate aroma. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish of short duration. Tastes are roasted coffee, dark chocolate, dark toast, and earthy hop. Medium bodied. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, chocolate dominant aroma, chocolate and roasted malts on the aroma, good stuff

Draft to taster. Looks good; a lightly translucent dark brown with foamy beige head. Smells malty with a nice balance of chocolate and mild coffee. Tastes like it smells, but not as chocolatey, with more roast than coffee. Mouthfeel is medium light to medium-bodied. Solid beer.

Touch of smoke not a lot of chocolate, more coffee. There is no smell. Not caramel. Smooth porter not a lot of bready malt. Julie gives 3.5 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a brown head. Aromas of nuts and malt. Flavors of nuts with hints of coffee and chocolate.

Kind of an odd one. Not really getting chocolate flavors... mostly just tastes like a wheat beer with roasty malt.
