crossovert (14233) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 10, 2016
Draft to 32 oz grolwer consumed less than an hour form pouring. It is pretty shite. Who the fuck thinks an imperial schwarzbier is a good idea? Its is mundane, tastes like a breaded penny with some coffee notes, very boozy and sweet, antithesis of what a schwarzbier is.

3.6
Huhzubendah (3776) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 17, 2016
Dark mahogany with a thin, soapy, tan head. Aromas of caramel malt, a touch of brown sugar, raisin. A touch of smoke, toast, toffee a hint of nuts. Light to medium bodied. Pretty good.

arminjewell (9744) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 29, 2015
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of chocolate, coffee, roast, some slight earth, spice, slightly watery caramel as well. Taste was a mix of roast, sweet cocoa, coffee, some nutty notes into a bit of earth, spice, slight yeast, finishing fairly sweet. Decent.

3.5
deyholla (12663) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 27, 2015
Bottle. Pours near black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges slowly. Aroma has dark grains and sweet chocolate with a decent amount of nuttiness supporting. Flavor is similar with sweet dark grains and chocolate up front supported by a growing nuttiness.

3.2
Onslow (1552) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - NOV 8, 2015
12oz bottle. Rich and sweet with a blend of sweet malts and slightly toasted malts. Good but a bit ponderous.

2.9
jbrana (640) - NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA - NOV 2, 2015
Yeasty, roasty, and hints of chocolate and espresso. Not really digging this one.

3.5
Strangebrewer (1391) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 28, 2015
bottle. Poured dark brown with a thinning tan head. Heavily roasted aroma. Full bodied, syrupy rich mouthfeel. Flavour of chocolate, smoke, coffee and dark fruits with moderate bitterness and an alcohol note.

vomit (282) - Michigan, USA - OCT 16, 2015
Oh boy, Short’s, really? It’s OK to name a beer after the Doors Album “The Soft Parade”, only because the beer does not suck…..but “Twist of Cain”? Is there a fetish with Jim Morrison and his acolytes? THINK ABOUT IT. I like Danzig. I like Morrison. I like beer…..this “beer”, not so much. Since Danzig has been known to emulate Jim, one can suppose this will stand in the shadows of the LIZARD KING himself, and find itself lacking in panache (it does). When you really want to be a rock star, load your tubby girth up with an assload of Blatz and vomit on the groupies. Jim would want it that way…..MOTHER! No one here gets out alive, bitches.

3.6
Angelmonster (203) - Colorado, USA - OCT 6, 2015
Pours pitch black with a thin tan head. Head retention and lacing are barely average. Smell is of caramel malt, toffee, and smoked malt. Very faint aromas of prune and date are present. Hops are non existent and alcohol is light. Taste is big on burnt malt, caramel, rye toast and some prune/fig. Hops are light, alcohol is apparent. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly on syrupy side. Beer is well carbonated for style, head levels are minimum. Overall the beer was slightly above average for the style. A little more smoky, chocolate flavor, than standard. Alcohol warms the throat going down, solid beer but nothing out of this world.

3.5
markas101 (2546) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - SEP 6, 2015
Bottle, Ann Arbor, MI, USA via Plum Market. Deep brown, chocolate and prune aroma. Faint carbonation, chocolate without too much chocolate powder. Mellow finish.
