COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Uncle Steve’s Irish Stout is Short’s version of the classic Irish Stout, complete with a dark color, soft head, and smooth full flavor typical of this lighter bodied beer. A simple grist formula provides a base of roasted malt flavors, while the infusion of nitrogen adds the creamy drinkability everyone loves.

A big coffee smell. A dark brown color with a dark nice looking head. Not a ton of flavor. But still not bad.

Bottle. Black with red highlights. Frothy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, ash, cardboard. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Bone dry finish. Taste of coffee, roasted malts with a light metallic note. Good balance.

574deadzone (1419) - North Central, Indiana, USA - MAR 17, 2017
Pours black with a mocha head that settles to not a lot leaving stringy, spotty lace. Nose involves toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate, mint and even a hint of sage. Fairly sweet, fairly bitter. Medium bodied, slightly oily and slick, some carb but not a bunch, finishing toasty and dry. Good dry stout, simple but balanced and delicious.

Bottled. Thin with a quick disappearing head. Not a ton of character in the taste.

Part of a sampler at Bellaire- very great nose, chocolate notes and a dark color. Creamy and full without being chunky. Not too hoppy and very good.
