COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Van Dammage has a refreshingly different nose that is abundant with tart fruity esters. This nose is accompanied by complex coriander spiciness. The overall malt profile is low, with faint red apple sweetness that’s complemented by the spice flavors throughout the brew. Subtle citrus hop flavors lead into a pleasantly bitter finish, before an overall dryness endures.

Tap at Logan’s event. Light body, spicy with some nice esters. I hate the hops in this. Earthy, bordering on straight up dirt. Sucks, because the rest of the beer seems great.

Tap at Short’s. Hazy golden orange pour with a sizable head that fades slowly. Aromas bubblegum yeast, grapefruit, and blood oranges. Taste starts with juicy citrus hops and then finishes with a strong bitterness. The Belgian tastes come late. Bubblegum, coriander, and light banana. A solid Belgian IPA.

On tap at the brewpub. Pour a slightly hazy golden color. Hops and citrus in the aroma and taste. Nice dry but not overly bitter finish.

Draft pour on tap at GTMW 2012 (Madison, WI). Pours a rich hazy orange pour, good glow and haze. Big cakey offwhite head atop stays huge, laces well. Aromas are richer hops, grapefruit, florals, and lemons. Some grass, gentle Belgian yeast gives a mellow spice, touches of fruit. Initial is a bit funky and raw, a touch weedy, as grapefruit comes on. Some sweeter dough and yeast makes an appearance we work into the middle. Quickly moving back into dry hops, citrus, grapefruit, and florals. A bit weedy and dank. Mellow spice giving it a mellow Belgian spin. Fairly fresh and vibrant. Nice.
