On tap at brewpub. Where is the fruit? I found this beer quite dull. The taste has nothing to envy to other beers of the same type.

(Rating #7861)

Pours a raspberry red color with a small white head. There’s lots of carbonation. Nose is mostly tart blueberries with some light malt in there. Mouth feel is very dry. You get some sourness and tartness probably from the blueberries. You also have an acidic backbone. The finish is a long dry tartness. Everything is well balanced. They said it’s a new recipe for this beer and this is probably why it feels much better than the original ratings seemed to indict.

Boutip (6533) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 6, 2016
Tap at the brewpub: Poured a light blueish color ale with a thin head with limited lacing. Aroma of tart notes with light lactic acid notes and subtle blueberry notes. Taste is a mix of tart notes with light lactic acid notes with some blueberry notes without any residuals sugar notes. Body is light with medium carbonation. A lot more tart then I was expecting with blueberry notes not as dominant as I was expecting.

On tap at Microbrasserie Siboire. Pours a nice pink with white head. Good lacing. Aroma is of blueberries. Taste is of blueberries, sligth acidity, malt. Overall: Very ligth. Refreshing. Came with whole blueberries in it. Not outstanding, but way better than some other blueberry fruit beers, i.e. Boréale Bleuets Sauvages. Anyways, clear lack of blueberry taste. Good to drink on a hot summer day, as a warmer to something more serious.

On tap at the brewpub. Served with a spoonful of blueberries in the beer. A good thing they add those, because you would never know it was a fruit beer otherwise. Very dim aroma of grain, a bit of fruit, maltiness, very hard to pick up anything at all. Taste is just straight out bland, tastes very generic with a slight fruitiness. These guys can do much better than this.

MartinT (10036) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 12, 2009
My Bottom Line:
This super clean and very timid Blueberry Ale focuses on its sweet fruitiness, producing a round body and linear flavors not necessarily conducive to refreshment.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the pinkish lavender.
-There is barley a sign of the advertised sour mash in the flavor profile.
-The soft bubbling emboldens the residual sugar presence, which is not necessary.
-The nose is not exactly very fruity, which is odd.

On tap at the brewpub.
