Merveilleuse!

In short: A full body nourishing IPA with intense resinous coniferous hopping. Great brew.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy dark golden topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is intense with a lot of coniferous tree, you can smell that beer from a few feet away. Body is full with a lot of toasted cunchy/crisp caramelized cereals. A truckload of assertive confinerous hops with a strong resinous character. A light orange peel sensation. Strong bitterness. Light dryness. This is not a refreshing hop juice beer, this is a nourishing tasty IPA. Wow! This was a kick-ass IPA. Too bad this brewpub is 2 hour drive from my place. Because now I feel like a poor has-been rock star desperately trying to make a comeback, Im depressed because I dont have any Inspiration anymore.

Hazy amber ale covered by a tight and proud off-white foam. Good looks. Biscuity, toasty (and quite cerealic with a certain depth in that department) malt base supports the hop show going on above it all. While not the most perfumey IPA, this boasts a confident sprucey carnival, adorned with orangey notions aplenty. In mouth, their importance is magnified. The hops grow by the sip, entangling the back of the tongue with a rich bitterness, resinous, citrusy, insisting at length. Fresh, tasty and balanced by a full, engagingly carbonated palate. Exemplary IPA, possibly better than any bottled Qubec IPA.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2012 Sample at "La Soire des Brasseur" beer fest in Shawinigan on August 12, 2012. 100% Zythos hops (#23). Creamy blonde, medium head. Creamy aroma of raw grain, well hopped. Taste of green hops a little sweet and a little spicy, very good bitterness. A very solid and well-hopped IPA, thats good!

On tap at the brewpub. Copper colored pour with thin white head heavy lacing. Aroma is piney with pink grapefruit, a bit of earth too. Taste is very bitter, lots of piney hops, very hop forward, deliciously unbalanced. Palate is very dry, some alcohol presence. Good IPA.

On tap (taster) @ Siboire Jacques-Cartier.

Appearance: Clear golden with a medium mostly lasting white head and some lacing.

Aroma: Burst of mango, passionfruit and watermelon with a light cereals presence and hints of resin. Superb and original!

Taste: Less explosive than the aroma, but still a beautiful presence of mango and passionfruit along resinous notes and light bitterness.

Palate: Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. Mild lingering (a tad too much) bitter finish which might be the only flaw of this one.

Overall: This is the real deal! Very good aromatic IPA with an original mix of fruity notes. With some minor tweaks to the mouthfeel, this could be a world-class beer.

1 day old growler batch 79 A: nice tropical aroma floating around, citrusy, grapefruit, litchi, papaya, a touch of pine. App: hazy pale close to milky smallish white head. T/p: thin to med body with short bitter finish. Soft carbonation. O: People of Sherbrooke, you should consider yourself lucky to be able to buy growlers of this that easily. Aroma is super nice could be a bit more powerful but still nice. That low bitterness with that light acidity really manage to make it an easy sip. Gj!

Très bonne upa ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
