Draft at Jackie o’s shared by a kind soul at the Appervation release. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, chocolate, cinnamon, bourbon, vanilla, molasses, dark fruits, thick, viscous mouthfeel, excellent. I would like to try the other blends at some point.

JAXSON (608) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2017
Poured as part of a "Derivation flight" with blends 1-7 including Double Barrel (sans blend 5). Thick black pour, faint carbonation. Nose is softer with less vanilla than blend 2, but with more interesting spices (cinnamon?) going on, and of course the toasted marshmallow and big barrel/dark cake notes. I feel like there was a bit more malt balance here too. Mouth is quite sweet like the others, but was less heavy with all these dancing cinnamon/spice notes. Some vanilla and coconut too, maybe. For me it was easily the best of the Derivation series.

Tap at Sovereign for CBC 2017 into a wineglass showing pitch black with no head and barely any carbonation. The nose shows strong notes of chocolate, figs, molasses, and an altogether vinous quality. Reminiscent of Dark Lord. The palate is full bodied, slick, and oily with no carbonation due to the high ABV. Milk chocolate forward with light maple syrup, cinnamon on the mid-palate with more dry molasses on the finish. Despite the high ABV, there is practically no alcoholic heat.

Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, spicy, cinnamon, chocolate, roasted, alcohol, vanilla, vanilla - cacao - vanilla beans - chocolate. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft, light alcoholic. [20160917]

Very dark, homogeneous color. The aroma volume is lush, with scents of coffee and dark roasted chocolate that dominate, small hints of wood spice, berry fruit, vanilla, green pepper. Very little alcohol. The feel is thick and creamy, a definite positive. This was a tasting event beer and we tried several world class beer in a very long flight and this was my standout favorite. Excellent.

Bottle shared at A Day To Sink All Sea Shepards tasting. Full lineup of 1-6 + DB. Black with a ring tan head. Aroma of massive cinnamon, chocolate, caramel, toffee, molasses, coconut. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with a thick texture and soft carbonation. Definitely getting some Huna/Abraxis vibes from this one. [17-09-2016]

rxeight (3243) - Illinois, USA - SEP 17, 2016
750ml bottle at the SP cellar. Black pour no head. Aroma chocolate, touch of oak. Taste is chocolate pudding, vanilla, touch of cinnamon. Very smooth bourbon, slight oak. Body is kinda flat and under carbonated. Not huge on that aspect but thick enough to make up for it a bit.
