COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After Saison du Fermier had been fermented in and aged in Chardonnay barrels for several months, we inoculated one barrel with wild Missouri yeast and bacteria and continued the oak-aging. This added deep layers of complexity and soft, rounded oak nuances to Oude Fermier. This old farmhouse ale was aged for 18 months before its release.

750 ml bottle to snifter (batch 1). Looks good; a hazy pale caramelish gold with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of a nice balance of oak and funk up front followed by mild notes of Chardonnay. Tastes like it smells, but less delicate. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and pleasantly tart. Good, but smells better than it tastes.

A touch too sour, but otherwise this is a great AWA with really nice fruity character reminiscent of nectarine.

750 mL bottle. Hazy orange. Prominent oak and vanilla barrel aromas. Wine. Pale malt. Tastes a little tart. Oak is still strong. Malty sweetness that fades away as tartness builds into the finish. Stone fruit in the finish. Medium body. Excellent.

Bottle. Clear yellow pour with a white head. Mild sour lemon nose. Lemon and tangy citrus notes give way to wet hay and yeasty notes. A bit one dimensional. Good body and mouthfeel.

Cloudy yellow color, puffy white head. Great funky beer! Quite a bit of barnyard funk, suede leather, wet hay, toothpick flavors from the oak, some lemony flavors.

bottle thanks to Dustin, this one I loved. Much bolder than the usual subtleties of side project. Heavy handed on the barnyard and funk. And its awesome. more leather, touch of smoke, etc.

Bottle number 7 thanks to Dustin. Pours a cloudy orange gold with mediumfrothy white head. The aroma is strong funk, brett, oak. Medium mouth, brett, funk, oak, lemon, tart, delicate, really enjoyed this one.

750ml batch 1 bottle 129/150. Hazy yellow. Sour lemon, a little funk, some Brett barnyard, oak. Less sour, less acidic, more barnyard yeasty, than the regular saison fermier (b2). Pretty good but I liked the regular one better.

Sampled during RBSG. From notes. Tart and acidic with some nice lemon and citrus notes.
