COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

Inspired by the perennial café favorite, Double Latte combines two of the greatest things in life: good coffee and great beer. Oregon’s Ninkasi Brewing knows their way around a good cup of joe. Featuring cold-press coffee from the legendary Stumptown Coffee Roasters and a dose of milk sugar, this coffee milk stout is a rich and roasty treat.

This young-gun brewery has a locomotive charge. A rich conversation at a local bottle shop in 2005 has morphed into a Pacific Northwest staple. Named after the Sumerian goddess of fermentation, Ninkasi’s first batch of beer was Total Domination IPA and it remains a must for those with a lupulin itch.

Draught at Elizabeth Station, Bellingham
Black color. The coffee, although not aggressive, dominates the aroma and flavor; the aroma is also lightly yeasty, the flavor lightly milky, lightly sweet. Some resiny hops in the final.
Good strong Sweet Stout.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma certainly is like a latte, with lactic notes, coffee and cocoa. Flavour is pretty identical, with coffee, cocoa and lactose sugar. There is even a slight boozy kick at the end. Full-bodied and well-constructed. Very nice stuff.

Bottle @ home. Black in color with khaki head. Nose has some really nice coffee and espresso character. Licorice, nice sweet dark fruit, fig, and a hint of ash. Slightly earthy and some nice leafy hops. There’s a good bitterness to the flavor. Some char and a hint of burnt sugar. Sweet fig and raisin. Licorice, some earth, and a touch leafy. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle from a mix pack from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours rich dark brown with a slight tan head. Strong coffee aroma. Med body. Flavor is very strong and dark coffee. Hints of lactose and dark malt. It is bitter in a dark chocolate sort of way. Bitter however considered. Coffee, coffee, coffee. The Mikk guys better watch out.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt and bakers cocoa. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt and bakers cocoa with a smooth dry lingering coffee finish.

Bottle. Poured black color with medium tan frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium to heavy roasted chocolate malt and lactic aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted sweet flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with a very good sweet stout.

A deep dark stout with a thick frothy lacing brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of licorice, light coffee grind, cinnamon notes, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of coffee grind, musty character, light vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice and solid after 3 years.
