2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

As longtime friends, Russian River brewmaster Vinnie Cilurzo and our own Brian Grossman are no strangers to brewing experiments. While looking for inspiration for this collaboration, Vinnie and Brian decided to honor the creations of legendary Belgian brewer Yvan De Baets with their own hop-forward American-Belgian mash-up.

From complex Belgian-inspired styles to American wild ales and hoppy Double IPAs, Russian River always pushes boundaries while respecting technique and quality. Co-owners Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo are longtime friends of Sierra Nevada and they always have a six-pack of Pale Ale in their fridge at home.

Draught at Collective on Tap, Woodinville, WA
Hazy blond color with creamy head. The aroma is delicately spicy. Lean and dry mouthfeel, smooth, with some crackery malt flavor, light spicy feeling, and light fruity touch. Correct bitterness.
Brewed with grace, balanced.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color with a soapy white head. Theres some nice citrus peel and clove aroma. A big of sweet bread and dough. Lemon zest, yeast, and floral hops. Pleasant nose. Flavor is a bit on the sweet side. Kind of a candied lemon thing going on. Banana, white pepper, and a hint of plastic. Its sort of yeasty. Nowhere near as dry as Id hope. Kind of disappointing.

Bottle from a mix pack from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours lemony gold with a slight white head. Aroma is sweetly floral. Med body or nearly. Flavor is very floral, with some light mixed fruit esters. Goes a bit earthy/yeast towards the finish. The hop is strangely complex - meaning I cant pick out a specific type of hop. Tastes very different, but its very interesting.

Bottle poured a hazy yellow with a lingering ring of white foam. Aromas of straw, yeast, fruitiness, spice and a hint of earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, yeast, white pepper and a hint of citrus with a crisp dry lingering peppery finish.

Bottle. Poured clear pale color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium harsh sweet flavor with a medium harsh sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where not met.

12oz bottle. Small white head that mostly dissipates atop crystal clear straw body. Aroma is medium sweet, cantaloupe, spicy, some musty, apple, light straw. Taste is moderately sweet, spicy, straw, some melon. Light-medium body, light resin. Lots of hops in here. A bit sweeter than Id like, quite tasty nonetheless.
