Clear dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, vanilla, tobacco, oak and smoke notes. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, tobacco, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcohol. 
Bottle, blind #9. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malt and breadish. Fruity, dark chocolate and liqourice. Dark roasted and mild ashtrayish finish. Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, bourbon, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, dextrose, wood, and bourbon, leading to a dry and roasted finish, where the dextrose note lingers. Quite much pitch black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, some slight liuorice, alcohol and vanillaish notes. Flavour is liquorice, some slight alcohol, mild notes of roasted malts, some vanilla and mild dark dry fruityness.

22nd May 2010. ChrisOs ’Blue Ridge Mountains Of Virginia’ tasting! Opaque black stout, frothy tan head. Fresh tasting beer! Fresh dark malt - a little nutty. Creamy fresh malt with a touch of coffee. A little hop in the finish.
