4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Now this is an IPA! I’ve been sampling for a long time, and a lot of IPA lately, and this is one for the top of the heap.
From Aug 2007
Purchased at Poplar Wine & Spirits in Casper for ~US$9.00
Pours from 12oz bottle a clear amber with a good head of foam that shrinks quickly leaving some spotting near the center of my glass and it has some lacing.
The smell is hop dominated at first but further whiffs in, I can smell some good sweet malt...nicely balanced nose.
The taste follows the nose to a T. Nice hop presence that is slightly grassy, slightly citrusy and put them together and they make for some good hop bitterness but...this IPA does not neglect the malt at all. Good malt sweetness, along with some bread, balances the hops *very* well and the end result is a very tasty, drinkable and yeah, *balanced*(did I mention that yet ;^) IPA that I can and will enjoy more of soon. There are plenty of other IPAs out there to enjoy if I want a good(read Big) hop kick. The more balanced ones....they're kind of a rare breed in Casper so you'll excuse me if I show some prejudice to this example by Sierra Nevada. I think it's very good stuff! john44 (3544) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2017
Bottle. Clear Deep Gold in colour. Intense zesty citrus hoppy bitterness and a little malt. Sour grapefruit, grass, herbs, earthy. Crisp and refreshing. Lingering dry citrus bitter finish. Nice! (2008)

Originally rated on 9/22/08. Anniversary ale poured a deep copper body, with good carbonation that lead to a thick off white cap. Aroma was pleasent with a strong floral hop presence similar to their pale ale but a little stronger. Flavor was a disappointment, a long lasting, overwhelming bitterness that overpowered the floral notes. Maybe my batch was old, who knows, i am not sure if i would try it again. nybol (2611) - DENMARK - MAR 13, 2016
11/20/2007 12:54:19 PM Bottle from Bier Koning. Creamy orange colour, bursting head. Amazing hopy and piney nose. Very nice tasting. A fantastic ipa with lots of pine, grapefruit and slightly bitter taste. Also some caramel. Quite hoppy and delicious.

*Old rating, best before 04/08/10. 2009 Edition. The beer is floral, fruity with a bit of malt. Mild, slightly bitter, nice-round, malty. slowrunner77 (13603) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 18, 2014
"it must be the dry hopping, cause this one is better than the ipa and pale too. i like their dry hopped beers though, one of their better ones, almost along with topedo ale, celebration ale, and of course, bigfoot." Danev76 (505) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 12, 2014
Very hoppy aroma. Cloudy golden colour with excellent head. Bitter hops, mainly citrus flavours. Medium body with low to medium carbonation. Iznogud (5056) - CROATIA - JUL 7, 2014
Bottle 355 ml from 2009, at Delirium Hoppy Loft. Pours amber with off white head. Slightly hoppy and caramel aroma. Caramel hoppy flavor. There is a chance bottle wasn’t in the best condition. Lothore (650) - California, USA - MAR 29, 2014
A- Pours a cloudy golden color with a nice, frothy, 2 finger head.
S- Wheat, slightly hoppy, somewhat faint.
T- Lots of piney hops all the way through. Deep bready, wheaty malt undercurrent.
M- Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
D- I find this beer to be extremely drinkable. Another winner from SN.
