On cask at Tap 25. I was a bit skeptical since the cask was already three days old, but I figured what the heck… a new Sierra tick. Anyway, it pours a brownish orange color with a large bubbled foam that disappears quickly. The aroma is nice with coffee and cocoa and lighter notes of caramel, plum, raisins and light smoke. The flavor is a touch syrupy with some caramel, maple and cocoa. Lighter coffee roast near the finish. Pretty enjoyable. Warming and tasty. Kind of wee heavyish. Tap at the brewery. Pours dark amber with a white head. Mild smoke in the aroma. Med body. Flavor is mildly malty sweet with light smoke and fruit. Closer to dry than expected. Good. Leighton (22814) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 24, 2012
Keg at The Blind Tiger, NYC. It’s a big, malty beer, so if you can’t appreciate that type of character this beer probably won’t get your juices flowing. There’s lots of rich toffee in here, toasted sugars, a bit of offsetting dirt bitterness, some berry fruits. medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Very mellow alcohol presence to finish, some ripe fruits, caramel, dark sugars. Very good stuff. jredmond (8839) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 19, 2012
Draft at blind tiger. Pours a deep, deep amber body with thin brown lacing. Aroma is faint malt and maybe a touch of muted fruits. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with light carbonation and notes of plain (not bad) malts, light fruit, syrup and earthy wood. Ehh. A little bland overall, but his the alcohol considerably well.

Pours a slightly hazy, deep copper, with a firm beige head.
Malty aroma, toffee, caramel, licorice, dried figs, apricot, prunes, faintly hoppy.
Off-dry, medium to full bodied, medium bitterness, creamy CO2.
Malty, slightly sugary taste, toffee, fudge, caramel, apricot, licorice, yeast, candied sugar.
Smooth, quite creamy texture, an enjoyable rendition of the style. (2012-06-27) mikem409 (2032) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - JUN 18, 2012

Tap at CK thanks to argo0. Clear red pour with spotty lace. Chocolate nose- richer and savory. Taste is richer chocolate, small espresso, thick and rich palate given the lighter SRM. Mild alcohol warming. Muted toffee and sugar thankfully given the style. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 5, 2012
