COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Bigfoot Barleywine is a craft beer legend. Each winter, this beast of a beer appears and wreaks havoc on unsuspecting palates with its intense bittersweet flavors. This yearin honor of the 30th Anniversary of this style-bending brew were releasing a very special version of this cult classic: Aged in oak whiskey casks for nearly two years, this barrel-aged Bigfoot is incredibly complex. The assault of resinous hops has mellowed, and the influence of the wood has shifted focus toward the maltwith rich burnt-sugar flavors and notes of vanilla, toasted coconut, and raisins. Grab this elusive beast while you can, because it wont be around for long.

Bottle. Clear deep copper liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of bourbon, raw sugar, raisins, light dill, oak, caramel and bread. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with notes of bourbon, hops, raisins and caramel. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Nice stuff!

2014. 11.9% . clear red with medium sized, stable, cream colored head. dusty oak, vanilla, butterscotch aroma. flavors of caramel, butter, vanilla, barrel, peachy fruits, butterscotch. complex flavors. great medium finish with medium body. the usual fresh, sharp hops of regular bigfoot have mostly diminished already when the beer hits the market. it drinks great now and will be better later, though its hard to imagine this beer improving. this should be the hottest cellarable beer of the year! i only wish i saved some of those 30th anniversary beers from a few years ago.

Received in trade and shared with friends. Pours a medium copper color with a smallish off white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of rich caramel a brown sugary malts with a bit of faded earthy pine and citrus with a very nice oak and vanilla. The flavor follows the aroma quite well. Medium to thick body with a light level of carbonation and a creamy syrupy mouthfeel. Fantastic beer, I enjoyed every bit of it.

@ Basunen 16-7-13: Mycket komplex med fylliga toner av malt, tjra, socker, whisky, lakrits och torkat frukt. Lng fin eftersmak. Elegant.

750ml bottle 2/28/13 (Binnys Downers Grove)-42 in snifter-Pours a murky brown with a small off white head. Aroma of sugars, malt, whisky, caramel, and toffee. Taste of dried fruit, whisky, oak, vanilla, caramel, toffee, and some alcohol. This full bodied brew is well balanced and is down right tasty. Great brew.

Draft into a snifter at Brouwer's. Brown color with ruby highlights and a khaki ring. Syrupy sweet and boozy aroma with a hint of wood and vanilla. Mellow flavor of vanilla, tobacco and molasses, with a hint of hop bitterness in the finish. Well done to make it drinkable and not over-the-top. No hint of the ABV at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters, displaying a hazed, ambered brown color, with a presentable layer of off white/light tan head foam, and spots & strands of lacing. The aroma introduced typical BW scent, with ripe/dried fruit, caramel sweetness, toffee, lurking alcohol, and barrel induced hints of vanilla & subtle coconut. Full flavored and warming, hop influence was still a strong factor, even after the barrel hiatus.

the first time i had this i felt it was extremely sweet. the flavors from the bourbon added a lot of sweet vanilla notes. but the second time i had it was digging it. so i dont know. i thought they were going to bottle this stuff. whatever, its not amazing and the reg. one is a lot better, but aging it for 5 years might be really nice.
