Medium sweet, definitely some dry wood, vinous aspects, lots of dry berries. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Dry, vinous berry finish, some toasted sugars. Lovely. On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a dirty amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of dried fruits, light caramel and fairly prominent barrel notes. Flavour is medium complex, with red wine and wood upfront but not too overbearing, with subtle hints of dark fruits and caramel. Not much sweetness at all, though a tad boozy. Very nicely done. chrisv10 (17428) - DENMARK - NOV 28, 2012

Strong Ale 2012. Dark amber/copper colored pour with a khaki head. Fruity aroma of pear, plum, dates, and raisins. Slight sourness, some red wine, and a hint of metal. Tastes of wood, straw, and fruit. Slightly sour, some red wine, and bit sweet malt. Some brown sugar, dates, raisins, and plums. Nowhere near as good as the original/regular version. Bottle [from trade with abitker, thanks!] shared with friends. Nice red-brown color with a dark red glare and an average sized white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is a bit faint apart from a clear bourbon touch. Taste malts, sweetish, bourbon, caramel, slight candy sugar. Don’t get the red wine influence. Medium body and carbonation. Quite pleasant. Nice. Ferris (15275) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 23, 2014
Draft - Vintage 2011 - Cherry with plums and some light sourness. Cloudy orange red with a thin white head. Cherry and lots of white wine notes. Effervescent and a slight acidity. Very different but good.
