Poured from a 375mL bottle.
Moderate malt character with dark caramel, toffee and burnt sugar. Light toasted bread and treacle notes. Moderate dark fruit notes of cherry, prune, plum and raisin.
Pours a nice brown color with some ruby hues. Moderately sized, somewhat thick, light brown head with average retention.
Flavor has a medium light sweetness with quite a bit of malt character. Lots of dark caramel and toffee. Moderate burnt sugar, light toasted bread and chocolate. Moderately strong fruit notes of plum, prune, cherry and raisin. Medium bitterness and a hint of alcohol spice.
Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth.
Overall a pretty tasty quad. Lots of complex sugar notes, but not too sweet with nice complimentary, bright fruit esters. Taverner (1103) - San Ramon, California, USA - APR 8, 2014
Notes of raisin, date and currant in there. Pours dark with little head. Finishes clean - perfect ale for a steak! Getbetter (1033) - East Palo Alto, California, USA - MAR 23, 2014
From a tap at the Torpedo Room. The pour brown red with a minimal white head.Huge raisin notes with booze notes as lite aftertaste.I normally do not like Quads but this is outstanding from others. gsteph (325) - knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 13, 2014
Pours a very dark, opaque brown with an effervescent medium sized tan head that dissipated quickly. Nose is heavy on liquor laden dark stone fruit, vanilla beans, brown sugar and slight toasted oak. Flavor is sweet, but not overly so like some quads. Cherries, raisins, caramel, liquored-up plums, brown sugar....to say the least it is very complex. The toasted oak is ever present as well. This is a wonderful quad without the prominent Belgian yeast flavor. Nice offering! BierFiend (253) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 28, 2014
Pours brownish red with creamy tan head. Smells of raisins, caramel, toffee, and alcohol. Tastes of raisins, prunes, and alcohol. Alcohol taste gets more intense as the air hits it. Flat and creamy on the palate.

Bottle shared at RBWG GT. Poured a muddy brown with a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma is fruity, cherry, strawberry, dark berries, vanilla, brown bread, touch of vinous notes. Flavor is very similar with lots of berries, cherry upfront followed by some bread and a bit more of a medicinal touch like cough syrup. Medium body with average carbonatoin. Nice beer. c_lee_burton (193) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - FEB 22, 2014

Bottle. Pours dark with tan head. Smells like figs, very sweet, fruit. Has a really huge sweet fig flavor, sugars, raisin, cherry. Sweet, rich, a tad alcoholy, really easy and good. Very delish. burleybrew (75) - - JAN 5, 2014
Bottle from Safeway in Chico. A rich beer with a lot going on. A little sweeter than other quads & not as carbonated. The beer also tasted a bit boozy. This isn’t my favorite quad & seemed a bit young. Ill age the other bottles.
