Sampled at the Bistro 7th Annual Barrel Aged Festival on 11/10/2012. This abby quadruple pours a medium dark brown color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, brown sugar, wood and vanilla. A medium to full bodied quad. The malts are fruity, caramel, toffee, brown sugar and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Nice balance. Decent carbonation. Nice sipping beer. Very smooth. Hints of brandy with some alcohol. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

On tap at the pony bar in Hell's Kitchen. There isn't a lot there on the aroma. Some mild stone fruit and candi sugar. On the palate there's more complexity with apricots, raisins, root beer, and caramel. Tasty but not as complex as I'd hoped.

On tap at Kickbacks, pours a dark reddish brown with a thin off white head, the aroma has a ton of sweetness with candy sugar mixed in with some oak and dark fruit, the flavor has a decent amount of dark fruit and caramel with some of the fruit coming through in the finish, nothing crazy but pretty good.
