Sampled at the Bistro 7th Annual Barrel Aged Festival on 11/10/2012. This abby quadruple pours a medium dark brown color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, brown sugar, wood and vanilla. A medium to full bodied quad. The malts are fruity, caramel, toffee, brown sugar and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Nice balance. Decent carbonation. Nice sipping beer. Very smooth. Hints of brandy with some alcohol. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Notes of raisin, date and currant in there. Pours dark with little head. Finishes clean - perfect ale for a steak! CHUDNW (28) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 14, 2012
The barrel-beating serves this kind of beer well. Big old raisiny belgian with all that funk and spice from the brandy oak. Worth a drink angrypirate06 (1388) - Texas, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Draught. Clear orange pour with small, long lasting head. Nose is maple, bourbon, brown sugar, oak. Flavor is sweet, maple, oak, bubblegum, vanilla. Silky mouthfeel, warm finish. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 11, 2013
On tap. Dark brown color. Good thin tan head. Leaves some nice lace. Very complex, interesting nose... Fruity, some raisins, candied fruits, some oak wood, with some vanilla. Medium / bigger body, light soft smooth carbonation, dry finish. Awesome flavor of dark fruit, vanilla, pepper, smooth toffee, with some subtle oak wood and brandy. Lightly sweet, some bitter. Only a suggestion of alcohol, but the tasty interesting complex flavors are way more noticeable. Awesome stuff.

Poured from bottle. Deep, dark reddish pour. Boozy, but nicely so. Caramelly, almost syrup but not syrup sweet. Almond finish. crossovert (12934) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 16, 2013
Assuming this is the cognac one. Had it on draft. Notes of balsamic without the sourness, very deep and complex brew. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 11, 2013
Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured dark brownish/mahogany with a thin head. Notes of ripe fruits, prunes and raisins along with oak on the nose. The characters in the aroma came through in the flavor. Soft mouthfeel. Carbonation was just right. Some sweetness, toffee, caramel, toasted malts. Wood and spirit booziness, along with deep fruity esters and Belgian yeast. A little acid came through but just a touch that hit the spot. This was delicious. Getbetter (1033) - East Palo Alto, California, USA - MAR 23, 2014
