Room. Hoppy nose, refreshing, balanced structure with zesty citrus hops running through a whisky barrel scent. Overall, a great example of three months in oak.
My new favorite IPA, I had to special order it and buy 5 out of 15 cases. Now it’s selling well enough that it’s always in stock. No more special orders are required at my packy joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - DEC 13, 2013
On tap at the Torpedo Room. It pours a deep golden orange with an off white head. Darker than regular Torpedo as expected. The aroma is a nice balance of tropical fruity peach, pineapple and grapefruit with subtle whiskey notes of vanilla and wood. The flavor is nice and hoppy with more wood, fruit and subdued alcohol. Surprisingly balanced and nice. VastActiv (7133) - Oulu/Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 4, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 14, 2013 Tap at Sierra Nevada Torpedo Room, Berkeley. Colour is clear orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, citrus, grape, sweetness, hints of alcohol and malts. Surprisingly quite soft and warm. Not fan of barrel aging of ipas but this one is the best so far. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - DEC 2, 2013
On tap @ Torpedo Room. Clear golden orange pour with a white head. Vanilla, caramel, and grapefruit aromas. A touch of pine. Nice chocolate, surprisingly, and a touch of booze. Smells like rye. Nicely sweet on the palate. Lots of caramel, toffee, and vanilla. Chocolate, whiskey, oak, and some pine and grapefruit. Finish is a touch boozy and bitter.
