Keg at Kickbacks, RBWG. Pours brown with a fine, beige cream head. Dark bread on the nose, some burnt pine. Medium sweet flavor, some booze, light cocoa, faded piney bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, toasted brown bread, earth, pine. Not bad. jredmond (8510) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 10, 2012

This poured a medium brown color with a beige head. Aroma was medium roast, some dark chocolate, and lots of soapy and astringent hops. Flavor was more hops than anything, light roast, but just straight soap water and bitterness. Meh. vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - APR 12, 2011
Draft @ Rattle ’N’ Hum SN event. Dark pour with tan head. Aroma is more of chocolate, with a touch of pine and earthy hops. Flavor is dominated with chocolate, and roasted malt, some light earthy and bitterness. Would have preferred more hop presence. JoeMcPhee (9517) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 27, 2011
Tap at Blind Tiger. Pitch black pour. The nose is softly cocoaish with a touch of piny hops on the finish. A little bit earthy with a distinct milk chocolate character. The nose has an earthy hoppiness and some light milky sweetness. Soft and surprisingly restrained on the the hopping. Decent balance. Lean through the middle with some fairly sticky sweetness toward the finish. As it warms the hoppiness picks up a distinctly pine flavour on the finish. A little bit of resinousness toward the finish as well. Fresh and quite tasty - although it’s more of a hoppy stout to me.
