Draft at Moriartys. Very nice clear brown pour with dark gold sparkle. Clear dark caramel married with a good hop mix. Higher alcohol feel than the ABV suggests. Clean burnt toast notes. Chocolate nibs. Liquorice. Varnish. Light raisin cordial. Dark plums. Autumn leaves. Black pepper. Bit all over the place style-wise, but was still pleasantly surprised. Good stuff!

On tap at the Sierra Nevada taproom (from notes awhile back). This is my 600th rating so figured I’d go with an obscure find at my favorite brewery in Chico. :) Clear brown/amber color with a rich malty, caramel aroma. Creamy body with nutty, earthy flavor and notes of fall leaves. This is followed by a pungent, spicy, earthy bitterness. Kind of a cross between a brown and a pale. Draft at Meridian Pint. Clear deep amber color, beige head with decent retention and solid lacing. Aroma of lightly toasted cocoa and caramel biscuits. Taste it bittersweet burnt toast with a bit of black pepper. Tasty.
