Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Chocolate and sweet malt aroma. light roast and chocolate flavor with toffee and a light fruitiness. Medium-plus bodied. Toffee and light coffee/light roast lingers with light dark fruit. cking (1175) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - FEB 25, 2010
"On tap at a fine establishment (although I have no idea how they scored one of these fairly rare kegs). Poured an opaque dark brown body with a soapy tan head and minor lacing. Aroma of figs, dates, licorice, chocolate and mild coffee. Great sipping porter, medium firm body with a bitter sweetness and finishes on a tangy ever so slightly sour note. Rich flavors that mirror the aromas along with a dose of noble hops."

Sample at 69 Taps in Akron. Pours brownish black with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing. Toasted malt and chocolate in the nose. Medium, dry body with flavors of roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. The finish is creamy and malty with a mildly bittersweet chocolate aftertaste. Decent overall.

(draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Had this a few weeks back and finally figured out what exactly it was so I could add it. Dark black pour with a creamy looking tan head. Aroma is heavily roasted with a lot of chocolate and burnt black malts. Coffee and chocolate begin the flavor and pretty much dominated it with a very nicely roasted malt and a rich and bitter cocoa finish. Smooth and chewy and really nice. Hopefully this becomes one of their seasonals?
