Pours dark ruby - fairly impressive lace - nose is about what you’d expect, which isn’t to say it’s bad, just predictable - a heavy dose of sweet caramel and dark fruit followed by an assertive and citrus heavy hop onslaught - creamy, full mouthfeel - extremely bitter and aggressive, but SN know how to pull this off without it being abrasive, which they do here - malts are rich and full, but still take a back seat to those assertive citric and woody hops - certainly a good rendition, but they did one of these in last year’s beer camp release - they also have yet another IPA in there - I certainly hope they release some unique beers next year because right now they just seem to be going through the motions. travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Bottle. The look is a bigger cashew colored head, clear, but darker reddish in color. The smell is pine, hops, caramel, fruits, and ok. The taste is hops, fruits, caramel, sticky, fruits, and malt. emacgee (4704) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Pours a very clean ruby red with a creamy 2 or 3 finger thick beige tan head. Nose is sharp and hoppy with citrus zest and woody notes dominating. Flavor is very sharp and bitter. Very bitter. Not to my liking. Sharp citrus rind (pith...) notes with some burnt sugar. Medium light body with a super dry and bitter finish. Bleh pineypower (3347) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Why they made an imply red 2 tears running is beyond me, anyway.....pours a nice ruby red with a moderate off white head. Aroma is of sweet caramel, toffee, light nutty notes, and some one dimensional citrus bitterness. Taste is sweet caramel, some toffee, light grainy notes, citrus bitterness, light alcohol. blackflag321 (699) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Bottle pour to shaker. Slightly sweet, slightly roasted malt, light citrus. . . nothing dominates the taste, everything nicely balanced. A good beer.

Pours a nice coppery cloudy brown, huge think head, nice lacing. Great malty, hopy, doughy nose. Attack was kind weak, subtle?, watery? But finish comes on strong with lots of flavor. Very drinkable. ozarkspops (368) - - SEP 6, 2013
Mostly clear ruby amber pour with thick khaki head. Significant lacing. Aroma is ver hoppy. Grapefruit mostly. Tropical fruit, citrus, and pine as well. Mild roast and caramel noticeable. Flavor is roasty and chocolate. Hop profile similar to aroma is still there but malt profile is more noticeable. Slightly boozy. Sweet but bitter finish.

Bottle: dark amber pour with medium-sized beige head. Aroma is malty, caramel bread. Flavor is a dusty grain, caramel, malt, hay, and a light citrus. Decent flavor with a grainy bitterness running through a mild malt sweetness with a light hop tang at the end. DocLock (10973) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 5, 2013
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours hazy deep coppery ruby with 2-finger frothy off-white head. Nose is heavy piney hops, citrus, caramel malt. Tastes caramel malty, very resiny and hoppy, with a bitter piney finish. This one is a hop heads wet dream. radio_nowhere (1472) - Maryland, USA - SEP 5, 2013
12oz bottle from 2013 Beer Camp into pint glass. Deep dark red color with thin tan head. Aroma of strong caramel malt and strong grapefruit/citrus hops. Taste starts strong with caramel malt sweetness, then pretty quickly into piney/citrus hop bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation, sweet, bitter, balanced, sticky with lingering dry bitter finish. Impressed with this one, very nice.
