Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Spicy and grassy hops, medium bitterness, some sweet and bready malts, and a lingering bitter finish. Pretty good. PhatB420 (840) - Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 25, 2013
12oz into a stemmed belgian. Head is heafty and full with marshmellow likeness. Aroma is sweet plums, rasin, blackberries, and soil. Taste is malty up front, the amber offering bring forth a smooth ride down the pallate, but forthcoming hop bombs ring in a diffrent tune and spice this one up some. Its a full frontal blast of amber excellence in the long run. Caramel malt tranfusions usher in a resounding balance of continuation, as does the yeast balance and the full bodied brew. The abv centers along the line of resounding but does not seem too out of line. This brew hols steady along the line and is my second favorite tihs year. I really like how the hops sneak right in and shower one with the bitterness and juicky flow of an ipa, then the malts overturn such action and befuddle the course, bring this version an imperial status. Nice brew. Nsanders (1144) - St Paul, Minnesota, USA - AUG 24, 2013
Bottle. Cherry wood color with a creamy head. Lemony hops, grass, grapefruit, and alcohol. Has a light sweetness that carries through, and the typical sierra nevada hoppy bitterness. This was my favorite from the 2013 beer camp sampler. LinusStick (3461) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 24, 2013
An average, yet still tasty imperial red ale. Aroma was decent. Big on roasted malt, ash and burnt caramel. Pour was a nice deep dark red with a one finger off white head. Taste was nice. Roasted malt melds nicely with the heavy hop bitterness. The hops contribute more bitterness than flavor, however. Finish is bitter and wet. Nice carbonation. rocbyter (2124) - Waterbury, Connecticut, USA - AUG 23, 2013
Moderate resin hop aroma with a light amount of malt. Hazy red color with a medium off white head. Starts with a mild bitter flavor that becomes very string in the finish.

Overall: I liked this beer, but I remember last year’s camp pack imp red ale was much more one sided hoppy. This version is certainly more American Strong than red as the malt component is fierce with the assertive piney hoppiness still. Booze is prevelant, caramel malts, fruity. Super clean palate with medium thickness. roxtersoxter (358) - McKinney, Texas, USA - AUG 22, 2013
Pours dark amber with large tan head out of bottle. Hop aroma with hint of grapefruit. Hoppy taste with finish of grain. Surprisingly great beer!

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 7/8/2013. Pours moderately cloudy ruby red color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, peach, pineapple, caramel, bread, floral, light pine, and floral earthiness. Very nice aroma with good complexity and big hop presence with a fair amount of malt balance; and good strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, orange rind, peach, pineapple, pine, caramel, bread, floral, grass, and floral earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, peach, pineapple, pine, caramel, bread, floral, grass, and floral earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice balance and complexity of hop flavors with a moderate malt balance; with a good bitterness/sweetness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Imperial red ale. All around good balance and complexity of hop flavors with moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering. Really nice deep ruby red color and full head. Rich malt nose with citrus hop aroma. This is a full feeling beer, lots of malts that are still upstaged by the hops. Reminds me of ABastard with it full richness. Tasty. thicksuds (449) - Massachusetts, USA - AUG 21, 2013
Wow, sierra nevada did beer camp right this year, some strong ones in the mix as well to make that $21 worth it. Seriously perfect imperial red, hoppy, crisp, smooth, and a really nice finish. Totally worth picking this mix pack up.
