Growler. Clear reddish amber with a dense off white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, citrus pine and floral hops. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, bitter hops and some dry alcohol. Medium body with a bitter finish. Nice beer, the bitterness balances out the sweet malt. warhawk91 (302) - Newington, Connecticut, USA - AUG 20, 2013
12 oz. bottle. Pour is a deep amber with a frothy light beige head with good retention. Good lacing. Smell is a nice rich malt, and a great blast of west coast piney hops. Taste is very rich with sweet notes of caramel, brown sugar which fades into a blast of citrus and cascade which lingers in between sips. Smooth creamy texture, carbonation similar to an American Barley wine. Kind of like a rich IPA, not bad at all.

Piny, resinous, and quite an oily bitterness. Has a slight sweetness, but unbalanced and over-hopped. All together not bad. jcos (1851) - Maryland, USA - AUG 20, 2013

Appearance: Pours a dark maroon with light lacing.
Aroma: Aroma of caramel, faint pine.
Taste: Medium light bitter, caramel.
Palate:Medium body, sticky.
Summary: Really enjoyed this one, better than the last SN Beer Camp Imperial Red. Nice beer.
Reddish brown with small tan head. Aroma piney hops and malt. Medium-full body. Not much alcohol. Grapefruit and citrus hops, bit of brown sugary malt in the background. Bitter hops overwhelms a hint of sweetness. Flavor is quite hoppy and pretty much tastes like a DIPA without much red ale character. Nonetheless is good.

12oz bottle. Deeo burgundy-brown body. Soapy massive beige head. Piny, in your face aroma. Sierra seems intent on nailing the ultimate hoppy strong red ale, and they are doing a good job. A quality beverage, well balanced. Drinkable, refined, despite the massive ABV. A real enjoyable, quality beverage. Hartung32 (252) - Indiana, USA - AUG 19, 2013
It's definitely unique...if you like Reds, you'll probably love this; if not, you'll dislike the more intense flavors that you didn't love to begin with.

Intensely hoppy. Piney, citrusey. Kind of overpowers the red ale part of the deal at first. Once it warms a bit, it obtains more balance. Pretty good. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - AUG 18, 2013
12-oz. Pours a murky and very dark amber with a very thin loose tan ring around the top. Sweet malty caramel and gingerbread nose also showing tons of piney hop. Very appealing. Creamy thick body, soft carb. Toasty caramel, pine, resin, roast, and some gingerbread on the mid palate. Long dark pine resin finish. Very nice. Floral and citrusy hop aroma with a very minute hint of a sweet maltiness. Its a clear deep red color with an off white pretty decent head. Very malty flavor mixes into a hoppy medium body beer. I get a cough drop flavor in the aftertaste.
