Subdued aroma of roast and chocolate. Pours an opaque black with a full tan head. Very nice chocolate flavor, fading to a strong roasted note. Very creamy mouthfeel, and full palate. This is an impressive sipping stout. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Bottle. Pours a rich dark brown, almost black body with a great frothy brown head that had good retention. The nose is rich and toasty with a nice slight sweetness from the oats. Some really enticing fudge like chocolate notes in there as well. The flavor is just as rich and thick as the aroma suggested. Very smooth and velvety with a great balance between the roast and the sweetness from the oatmeal. Really thick and chewy mouthfeel, reminds me of a milkshake. This is really nice. Amazing how much flavor they can pack into this beer. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 5, 2012
This poured a medium rown color with a beige head. Aroma was of herbal hops, dirt, dark chocolate, and roasted malt. Flavor was astringent and a bit dirty tasting, very herbal and greeen with light sweetness to try to balance it out. Meh. Leighton (22027) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2012
Bottle sample at Nejaime’s, MA. Pours rich brown with a big, beige foam head. Moderate roast nose, some chocolate. Wow flavor with more moderate roast, some charred malts, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, hints of bourbon. Medium bodied with average creamy carbonation. Warm finish with lots of dark chocolate, burnt sugar, charred wood, light burnt grass bitterness. Superb beer. Great balance all around. Bit licorichy for me but enjoy the mocha sweetness and the hops seem to round things out well. Alcohol extremely well hidden with a bit of a medium wet palatte going on. Like a chocolate bar with some oatmeal in it. The alcohol is in the finish with that licoriche twang.

This beer looks good, has a decent nose. But its is a bit to big to be an oatmeal stout. Russian imperial, I’d buy that. Good all around brew, but again beer camp box....bad name. AirForceHops (7680) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap. Nitro pour. Nose was sweet chocolate, tad of oatmeal, with dry roasted barley. Flavors of big roasted, burnt malts, hints of licorice, coffee, caramel and undertones of the grassy hops. Silky almost milky texture. Full-bodied and roasty. ABV is nowhere to found and drinks like a stout that is 5 or 6%. This was a real treat and if I hadn’t had six other beers before it, I would have ordered another pint. Didn’t know it was 9% until the glass was emptied. If you can find the mix 12 pack do so, better yet find it on draught.

Poured jet black with a very small khaki head. Aroma is coffee, toffee, chocolate and a little bit boozey. Taste is like a mocha coffee with a slight nuttiness. Texture is silky smooth with little carbonation, it really coats your mouth. Malty_MacHops (688) - Eastanollee, Georgia, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Good. The nose is coffee with a touch of chocolate. The beer is deep black with a thin syrupy tan cap. Sweet with roast coffee notes. Thick with aong sweet finish balance by bitterness not from hops but from roast. JLLSU (238) - Acworth, Georgia, USA - SEP 3, 2012
12oz bottle from variety pack----> shaker. Pours super black with small tan head with decent lacing. Aroma is light coffee and mocha. Taste is much better than aroma with light soy sauce, bitter good coffee, spice, and dark chocolate. Palate is thick and creamy, almost chewey. Fantastic representation of the style and EASILY the best beer in the box set.
