Tap at Pap. Slightly hazy deep amber color pour with a foamy head. Lots of toasty malt, earthy hops and spice. A good brew, with very similar flavors of other Sierra Nevada products. If you like those, you’ll probably like this. hellbilly (3249) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - DEC 26, 2009
on tap 11/23/2009 at papago.
coppery reddish brown colored pour with a big ol’ soft tannish off white head. there’s a slight haze noticed which might not necessarily be the beer.
the nose is sweet and grainy... over ripe fruit, light pine, earth, caramel, florals and a touch of peppery spice.
the flavor follows suit though it is far drier than the nose lead on. it finishes with a tingly hoppy bitterness which lingers until the next sip.
the body is medium though i expected it to be fuller given the sweet aroma. fortunately, it is crisp, hoppy and easy drinking. 7/4/7/4/15/3.7 chriso (7533) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 25, 2009
On tap at Cambridge Common, Cambridge MA, October 2009. Made by the two ladies who own/run the Cambridge Common according to the blurb and described as an "Imperial Red Ale". It is quite red. Some roast notes. Decent hop to provide the counterpoint. Good balance. A decent, tasty beer. Went down easily.
