Cask at the Rake, 17th Sept 09. Very dark brown with a white head. Hints of smoked meat on the aroma. Lots of rich milky chocolate flavours along with roasted notes and the rye. Very, very smooth. Easy to drink in quantity. Sublime. I had it on keg at the White Horse the week after and it lost the meaty hint but was still excellent. Svesse (8777) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - DEC 12, 2009
(Cask, by gravity, at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 29 Nov 2009) Dark reddish brown colour with brief head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with spicy notes of rye. Malty, smoky taste with roasted rye, chocolate and lots of hoppy bitterness in a fairly short and dry finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel. Rather weird beer. Interesting and definitely worth a try. gnoff (10891) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 26, 2009

Clear dark brown color, small tan head. Caramel, cream, hoppy, floral taste. Sweet and bitter aftertaste. Floral hoppy scent, also malty sweet. Some peppermint in the back of the nose as well. Smooth, soft, creamy mouthfeel. Medium to medium low bitterenss at first masked by the dominant fruitiness. Afterbitterenss medium to medium high. Also floral aftertaste. Some hints of smoke in there, but well balanced.
Had this twice, first at The Porterhouse in Covent Garden when I didn’t think it was quite right, interesting, but not quite right, and then at The Rake where is was a lot better, cerainly hoppier over an interestingly full bodied slightly smokey rye body. I thought pretty good. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - OCT 5, 2009
