4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: MAR 5, 2014 Pours brown but appears deep red when held up to the light. Nice tan head that lingers a little bit. Aroma is complex of multiple fruits and vegetables and hops. Taste is likewise complex. Malty upfront and a STRONG hop bitterness on the back. Flavors of grapefruit and vanilla peek through before the hops hit. After the hop flavor fades, a nice lingering sweetness remains. Fantastic beer.
Update: Let these sit for a few months and WOW. It’s amazing how a beer can change flavor in just a couple of months. The hops are still present for certain, but no longer as powerful. There is now a distinct toffee and caramel malt presence that balances fantastically with the milder hop presence. This is now one of my favorite beers.
Bottle from Systembolaget (9,6%). Vintage 2017. Color is copper with small white head. Aroma is hopy and apricot. Taste is malty, bittersweet and somewhat floral with a sting of alcohol. Gives a bitter aftertaste. Sipping it ,it reminds a bit of taking small tastes of a well chilled brandy. Pleasant and enjoyable. MohaBeer (284) - Lima, PERU - JUL 8, 2017

Reddish brown colour with a white head. Balanced fruit and malt aroma. An initial sweetness leads to a big hop bitterness on finish.

2016 bottle. Brown/Amber Color.
Strong intense Malt flavor followed by huge hoppiness.
Hop aroma and bitterness balance the malt perfectly but Hop flavor overpowers everything If drunk fresh and does not help the balance of the beer.

Bottle shared at home. Hazy orange colour, small white head. Nose is sweet, caramel, burnt sugar. Taste is medium bitterness. Lingering, intense bitter aftertaste. I’m kinda missing the barley winey sweet notes. Feels like a dipa with all this bitterness... voyageurmike (436) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 8, 2017
Draft at Growler Spot. Chestnut colored and full bodied. Boozy malt flavor and sweet finish. Very polished barleywine. KennethArd (570) - Odense, DENMARK - JUN 5, 2017
Vintage 2017. Aroma of sweet fruits, malt & raisins. Amber red with large lightly brown head. Very bitter & light sweet taste. Full bodied, creamy texture & soft carbonation. Guess it’s still immature. Jimbo2 (475) - DENMARK - JUN 2, 2017
Brown, small head. Initial malty sweetness quickly overpowered by HUGE amount of old school, bitter hops. Nice...! seehaferb23 (270) - - MAY 25, 2017
This was tasted by Cannery Row Beer Club. This is a 2016 that was aged for 1 year. Cheers.
