Pours hazy golden yellow with a thick white head. Citric, extreme hoppy nose, and flavour as well. Acidic, Refreshing taste, somewhat flowery. Sweet. Great bitterness. An excellent ale. Medium to full bodied.

Poured a slightly-cloudy amber with a medium head. Head dissipated after a couple minutes, but some stayed almost til I finished the beer. Floral and fruity hops dominated the nose. Light and well-carbonated mouthfeel. There was plenty of hoppy-fruity goodness in the taste. Very good, well-balanced beer.

Medium white head on a dark golden body. Srtong flavour, really a Winter beer, good with spicy food. Citrus notes and malty. Really warms you!

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2007 This ale should be celebrated at only $7.50/sixer. Pours a beautiful honey/straw with a bubbly white head. The nice citrus aroma is woven together with some tasty malt undertones. The flavor is somewhat meaty, and warms slightly in the finish. Great winter warmer.

Pours amber with beige head. Aromas of dry floral hops and maybe some holiday spice. Nice rich flavor and body. Moderate ABV is disguised well. Sierra Nevada doesnt do great beers, but ones that I am never disappointed to sit down and drink.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2008 Interesting choice to put out an IPA as a winter seasonal brew--I love it. Typical Sierra Nevada floral aromatics with really great crisp hops notes. Medium mouth feel bolstered by the higher alcohol makes for a really positive drinking experience--try on tap.

Im not a big hops fan but the hops in this is just so over the top that I drank about 2 sips and dumped it down the drain. I cant think of a beer that I like less.

Fierce, alcoholic Californian IPA (6.8%). Poured an amber colour, with a moderate head that laced well. Zinging aroma of gin and tonic and lemon cough drops, with an underlay of sweet spices. Oily mouthfeel. Full of lemony hops, with a classic US IPA bitter finish. Fiercely bitter. Plenty of warming alcohol. To be honest, I found this challenging until the hops had bludgeoned my palate into submission. By the end of the glass, I was a convert. (Bottle, 2001 vintage)

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2006 Great beer. Reminds me of SNPA but hopped up (no pun intended) on steroids. Very flowery bouquet of hops and pine also sweet and bitter. Complex but smooth . Very enjoyable.
