Absolutely Delicious Brew! This along with Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA are my 2 favorites. Buy a keg, it’s even better on tap
From Nov 2005
Poured from the bottle(room temp) with a nice head that dissipated fairly slowly into a fine broken layer in the center and a fine lacing around the edge of glass. The colour is a very attractive and clear reddish gold.
The smell is a strong hoppy-fruity aroma that is very inviting, so compelling.
The taste is very strong hops with grapefruit notes that jumps at you early then settles down a bit in the middle with some malt tones and returns with a very nice bitterness in the aftertaste.
Wow! This is one of my favourite brews of *any* style! Fisler (656) - Bamberg, GERMANY - SEP 22, 2017
Sehr lecker! Bacchus66 (904) - South Carolina, USA - AUG 27, 2017
12oz bottle at home. Pours slightly hazed reddish amber with a sticky off-white head and good lacing. Great IPA character with grapefruit, orange, pine resin, caramel malts, lots of hops bitterness offset with semi-sweet caramel malt. Lively spicy hops finish. Delicious. Forgot to rate this one, been a while back. Just remembered it being very full body and strong. too strong for my meal really. Maybe by itself it would have been better.

More of an earthy taste. Kind of a toffee taste. The hops are overpowering everything else. Expectations are misleading.

Originally rated on 1/18/2009. Had this one today at Opal Devines in Austin. Flavor of floral hops with a nice bitterness, with a decent malt backbone. Normally you wouldnt think of an ipa as a christmas brew but this is a pretty good beer no matter the season Beer5000 (6677) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - FEB 28, 2017
355 ml bottle. Unclear reddish amber body with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma has malt, caramel, citric fruit and flowers. Flavor is sweet, smooth malt with some caramel, citric fruit, spices and moderate bitterness. Fine balanced body and long lasting, pleasant aftertaste. Not the most bitter IPA in the class, but sure a fine ale anyway, smooth, tasty and balanced.
