cask at GBBF 2010 ... copper ... sweet woody toffee malt nose ... dry toffee malts ... light fruit. madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2010
10th October 2008. GABF. Clear brown beer. Massively hoppy but manages not to overpower. Let down by an over dry and bitter finish. Leighton (22307) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 26, 2010
Tap at Blind Tiger, NYC. Pours a mostly clear copper with a moderate, off-white head. Holds a ferocious hop aroma with earth, pine and light citrus. Flavor begins with mild caramel malts before the hops take hold. Reasonably balanced and not over-the-top. Medium in body with average carbonation. Finishes with strong bitterness that lingers. Delicious. rlgk (18844) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 4, 2010
Amber colored beer ith a rather small offwhite head. Hoppy aroma, fruity, grassy, apples and apricot. Hoppy grassy flavor, perfume, grass, fruits, blackcurrant. Fruity finish. brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 20, 2010
A: The pour is a dark amberish color with a mild off-white head to it.
S: Lots of pine and citrus, namely grapefruit, hop aromas immediately fill the nose. There is also a touch of woodiness to it, perhaps rosemary?
T: This beer is surprisingly bitter, especially compared to other Sierra IPAs. Lots and lots of pine and citrus (grapefruit again), with a lingering resinous bitterness.
M: The body is medium with a moderate carbonation.
D: At times, the bitterness came off as harsh. But, it was not quite so sustained as to significantly impact my perception of the beer (in a negative manner).

Draft at SN tasting at Olives.
Poured clear daek copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus and floral hop aroma. Medium body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bitter hoppy flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration.
This is a good beer that was better then my expectations. DocLock (11049) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 18, 2009
Draft notes from DRE. Pours deep coppery with off-white head. Nose is resiny hops, tropical citrus. Tastes hoppy, resiny, with tangerine and pineapple notes, solid malt, floral and peppery notes, and a crisp finish. A very good IPA. JoeMcPhee (9550) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 27, 2011
Pale golden pour. The nose is quite resiny and quite chewy. Fairly bright and fruity with a distinct blackberry aroma. A soft spiciness and a fairly sweetish malt base. A little bi tof light soft spiciness as well. Earthy and a little bit chewy. Lingering hoppiness gives it a long chewy, resiny finish. I quite like it. Like the Torpedo, I’m not getting huge changes from the regular IPA. Musty. A bit more English style. Caramel. Bitter. But not an imperial - as I understand that "style." JaBier (8253) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - MAY 31, 2009
On tap at the Sierra Nevada tasting at the Winking Lizard Bethel Rd. location on 5/13/09. Clear amber pour with a medium tan head. Citrus and pine hop aroma with a bit of malt. Malty aroma with some earthy hops and a lasting bitter finish.
