One of the darkest beers I've ever seen. Completely opaque. Aroma of sweet coffee beans. Definite coffee flavor. A beautifully strong beer!

Served on tap a Pizza Port OB on 5/15/10. I felt bad ordering a not Port brew on my first visit but this looked far to inviting. Turns out after all it is a collaboration so it’s perfect! The appearance is a nice rich brown-black with a small medium brown head. The aromas are full of roasted goodness, chocolate, and hints of burned popcorn. The flavors are all heavy roasted grains at first with dark chocolate notes that build through the drink and really develop into more upfront flavors. Some nice coffee bean notes in there as well. The mouth is fairly full and nicely smooth. Very drinkable and delicious. hapjydeuce (1001) - Carlsbad, California, USA - JUN 21, 2010
On tap at O’briens and Toronado, San Diego on multiple occasions. Im liking these one-offs from Sierra! Empire Strikes Black was the shit, and this follows up nicely. Oily black with little head, but decent carbonation. Sweet aroma of dark fruit (dates, plum and cherry) mixed with salty roasted tones. Flavor starts sweet with more cherry and light clove, followed immediately by darker smoke and coffee tones. Thick, coating mouthfeel. Fairly complex. I like it! On tap @ Pizza Port Bressi Ranch. Pours super dark watery brown with thin pale mocha head. Aroma is slightly tart mild chocolate malt. Taste is bitter roasty malt with smooth chocolate flavor. Black cherry and faint vanilla notes on the clean dry finish. Very drinkable for a baltic porter - doesn’t seem like 8.4% abv.

O’Briens SD on draft. Stout Porter blend flavors. Some coco. Nice low carb look but like a macro it carbs up on the palate. Balanced. Almost no alc detected. Touch of coffee and toffee. Some cola flavors. Balanced and slightly sticky. Could be darker roasted to go along with the rich somewhat thick flavors? Imperial porter for sure but not overly complex or creamy. Very cool to try and the 1st to rate!

I had this on tap at Pizza Port San Clemente. It’s a very dark brown pour with nice malty and roasty flavors. JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 28, 2010
Tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Deep black pour. The nose is quite fresh and clean with a touch of light dark roastiness. A slight touch of molasses and a touch of light roastiness on the finish. Softly earthy maltiness with a touch of light grassiness on the finish. Clean tasting although there is a touch of anise. Authentically malty with a very clean yeast profile. peteinSD (1469) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 10, 2013
Tap @ PP Carlsbad. Black pour with a thin tan head. Aroma is dark, bitter chocolate and roast with some underlying darker fruit. Taste is chocolate, light bitterness, roasted malt, and soft raisin. Clean mouthfeel. Great beer. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - MAY 23, 2010
