COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Limb & Life is a companion to the big beer-an acorn off the larger tree. (Life & Limb) It is a 5% ABV small beer-a low-gravity beer made using the residual sugar as “second runnings” from the first larger brew, fortified with American hops. This is a session beer.

ben4321 (6734) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - NOV 25, 2009
Location: On tap at Capital Ale House - Innsbrook, 11/24/09

Aroma: Aroma of dough, pine, citrus, caramel, orange, brown sugar, and nuts
Appearance: Pour is a somewhat murky brown color with a nice beige head
Flavor: Taste is kind of sweet with a lot of the same components as the nose
Palate: The body is light to medium, with a smooth feel and a doughy texture
Overall Impression: Overall, I liked this one more then some of the other raters it seems (though as the 15th rater, I guess there isn’t enough data to know what other raters really think. I thought it was an interesting beer, a nice attempt. I’d like to try to big brother (Life and Limb), and see these two breweries collaborate again in the future. This one could probably use a some work rounding it into shape, but overall I enjoyed what they did here.

JaBier (8235) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - NOV 25, 2009
On tap at the Winking Lizard Crosswoods location. Clear brown pour with a medium tan head. Citrus and pine hop nose with roast, apple and a bit of maple. Earthy hop flavor with a lot of tea character and a bit of roasty. Not bad, but I’m hoping Life & Limb is much better.

3.4
BOLTZ7555 (3127) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - DEC 5, 2009
On tap @ Papago. Really solid, sessionable brown ale. Mahogany pour with a fizzy eggshell head that doesn’t leave significant lacing. Aroma is cocoa, brown sugar, and biscuit. Flavor shows honey, chocolate, and a slight coffee finish. Medium mouthfeel with ample carbonation. Good.

3.4
Rynoplasty (700) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 13, 2009
Pours brown with an off white head. Aroma is piny, birchy aroma with a little bit of malt. Flavor is piny birchy syrupy flavor with a little bit of citrusy and earthy hops. Not bad.

Tap at tylers in derm,nc. Light amber pour with an off white head and spotty lace. Aroma is pine, and grassy. Flavor follows suit with a blast of caramel earthiness and toasted malts

3.4
Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 17, 2010
Growler at a CL release. Pours a deep copper red and a thin off white head. Aroma is spicy, woody, moderately sharp sweetness, rough harsh burnt malts and toffee, roast, green woody hops, light citrus and sweet. Flavor is sweet and hoppy trying to cover up some astringency from some burnt malts, astringent over-sparge and slight solvent, some apple and earth - eh- ok.

3.4
jredmond (8626) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 9, 2010
Draft at monks cafe. Pours a clear dark red body. Aroma is slight malt. Flavor is light, notes of bitter hop and sweet malt.

3.3
Damico (3150) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2009
Malty aroma. And lighter in appearance - translucent dark brown chestnut. Tastes lighter than its counterpart on all parts.

3.3
bb (9789) - Alamo, California, USA - DEC 29, 2009
Draft. Rich brown beer with a nice tan head. Chocolate aroma. Cocoa and light grain flavor with light hops and some nuttiness. Medium bodied. Grain and chocolate lingres with nuttiness and light hops.

gracefullypunk (667) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 8, 2010
On tap at Brouwer’s. Best part about this beer was its pour, a deep red brown with a tan head and lace. Tastes of grapefruit and floral hop with some caramel. Odd tea taste that faded quickly. Sometimes collaborations work. This one really didn’t.
