COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re combining elements of Duvel’s classic golden ale with Sierra Nevada’s hop-forward fanaticism to create a new beer that highlights both. The complex and fruity nature of Duvel’s signature yeast is the first thing that greets you, followed shortly by a blast of bright, citrusy hops. The beer also has a touch of lemon peel for a pop that greets the palate right at the finish of this deceptively drinkable and complex beer.

355ml bottle bought at Q Club in SoHo, Central.

Looks: Clear dull light golden colour; Less than one-quarter finger head with residual soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Good sticky lacing with active slight carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragment malt, with white grapes, melon, mangoes, yellow fruits, black currant, blueberries, watermelon, cream soda, floral, sugar, spices, wood, biscuits, Bel yeast and light grass. What a bliss!

Taste: Close to medium sweet malt, with strong citrus, strong alcohol, yellow fruits, floral, fair sugar, spices, biscuits, Bel yeast, lemon, mid to fair bitter hops and grass.

Body: Medium body. Slick and crisp palate.

Mouth Feel: Good maltyness in a thin, very well-attenuated background. Very bubbly, with strong nice booze and strong citrus dominate. Flowery with medium sweetness, spicy biscuity with strong lemon to round. Very nice!

Hoppiness: White grapes, melon, mangoes, yellow fruits, black currant, blueberries, watermelon, floral, spices, wood and light grass in nose. Strong citrus, yellow fruits, floral, spices, lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, high astringent bitter-sweet fair malty finish.

After Taste: Dry. Boozy citrusy and strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one has some interesting hops (Eldorado, Calista, Cashmere) to contribute a colorful and fruity aroma, while the taste is solidly citrus with Tripel-like bitterness. My only complaint is the absence of Bel yeast in the bottle and a lack of head and carbo, otherwise this is very bubbly, tasty, strong and exciting. Not top, but definitely worth a try for the aroma!

bottle - Mostly clear gold pour. Aroma is fruity and yeasty with citrus. The flavor is fruity and sweet up front with a somewhat dry finish. There's citrus and obviously Belgian yeast plus a little alcohol noticeable. The finish is moderately bitter. Really good.

Bottle from the 12er. From backlog notes. A: Mostly clear gold with a bubbly white head, lacing near to legs. N: Lemon, clove, touch of earth, grapefruit, cracker, white peppercorn, some pine, candy sugar, hay fields, touch of lavender, esters, touch of woodiness, and lots of yeast profile. T: Sweet with a balancing level of spiciness and an underlying hop bitterness. This is really bright with flavors, and the yeast really works through the dough. M: Medium-light body, light touch of alcohol, spritzy carbonation. O: Excellent beer. The combination of SN's hop profile and the Duvel yeast makes for a tasty quaff with the touch of lemon peel adding enough of an outside dimension to take this to another level.

Pours pale gold with medium head that leaves ample lacing; floral and citrus fruit notes on the nose; light, crisp mouth feel with an off-dry finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow gold body with a one finger fizzy white head. The nose is bright and lemony with some clean pale malt and a slight sweetness. The flavor is pretty nice, fruity and sweet with a nice subtle hint of lemon on the finish. A nice citrusy hoppiness before the lemon comes on really ties it all together. Slightly sweet and fruity finish. Light bodied and very drinkable with fine fizzy carbonation. Pretty good beer, surprised that I liked this so much. 3/7/8/3/15

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Crisp lemon and a bit of dusty hops, a touch of wheat and grain. Medium bodied, crisp and clean, nice smooth lemon note with a bit of soft citrus behind it. Slow bitterness on the finish.
