The new style in IPAs is to highlight heavy hop aroma without intense bitterness, and this lightly hazy IPA does just that. It features the native-grown FZMR2 hop varietal, known for its mango-forward flavors, as well as HBC598, 438, and NeoMexicanus. The result is a danky, juicy, citrusy IPA with big flavor and aroma and low bitterness.

2/17/2018 (12 fl oz can): Aroma is floral with rotting fruits and a hint of passion fruit; murky golden-bronze color with an fluffy off-white head; earthy and floral bitterness, citrus peel and pithe; moderate bitterness; medium body, oily mouthfeel; meh, okay at best (although it gets a bit better as it warms), good bitterness level, but the hop aroma and flavor profiles aren't very impressive, the Sierra Nevada Wet Hop IPA was much better...

Thanks to Aurelius for the trade! Slight haze to the dark golden/light orange pour with a silky off-white head, light lace, Aroma has a pleasant spruce twang to it, some nectarine fruitiness. Good full-bodied flavor, solid citrus bitter bite, some spearmint spice, a touch of caramel sweetness. Sticky, thick mouthfeel.

12 oz. can, consumed on 3-13-18. Packaged 2-2-18. Pours a mostly clear but slightly hazy bronze. Small to moderate amount of beige head. Generic West Coast IPA hoppy aroma. Citric, piney smell. Scents of grapefruit and armpit. Caramel scent as well. Hops funk in the smell. Lemon and grapefruit flavors. Malty sweetness. Caramel, even some toffee. A little sweeter than I prefer. A touch of chalk. Decently bitter and dry finish. Dry, lightly bitter aftertaste. Medium body. Smooth enough in the palate. Pretty generic palate effects. Not a bad beer in the slightest. Just utterly unremarkable. A solid but far from special West Coast IPA. Nothing wrong with that, but not a whole lot to recommend it either. I was hoping for something much more interesting.>3.4

12oz can. Poured a hazy golden color with a medium sized head. Citrus, some floral hops, and some toastiness.

Beaver (1906) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 17, 2018
12 oz can. Pours hazy golden orange with a big fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is subdued - sweet bready malts and a little fruit and resin.

The flavor is sweet bready malt with tropical fruit and a resiny hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice IPA.

Can. Fresh grass, lemon peel, and biscuit malt aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow with giant white head. Moderately sweet tropical fruit, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter orange peel/pine flavor. Nice hop kick in the finish. Good body.

Can from Table and Vine. Light hazy pale copper orange with lasting head and lace. Peachy citrus and woody aroma. Medium light citrus peach lightly toasted cereal sweetness. Medium spicy citrus grassy bitterness in dry finish on lively carbo medium light body. Not sure what it is but something works on this one. Excellent.

Bacchus66 (1162) - South Carolina, USA - MAR 14, 2018
12oz can from the boxed set. Clear gold with a lasting, full white head. Tropical fruit, pine, bready malt. Medium carb. As noted, the finish is not nearly so bitter as the flavors (or aroma) would suggest. Solid IPA.

fidelis83 (2570) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - MAR 13, 2018
Hazy light gold pour with a one finger, creamy white head that has good retention and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is dankness, light bready and cracker notes, red grapefruit juice, tropical fruit, citrus peel and a little grassiness. Flavor is toasty and nutty up front, some cereal, dry citrus peel, a little dankness and some thistle flower-like earthy notes. Light to medium body, somewhat juicy entry leading to a fairly dry feel overall, medium carbonation.

Goodgrief (2088) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - MAR 11, 2018
Hazy golden pour from can. Mild aroma of soap, light fruit. Melon fruits in this. Cantaloupe, pineapple. Tasty. Moderate amounts of hops to balance. Quite tasty.

italianjohn (3378) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 8, 2018
Pale golden/copper pour with a thin white head and light sticky lacing .... aroma of mango, grapefruit, lemon and orange .... taste is of light pine, mango, grapefruit, lemon and orange .... dank and rindy with a bitter dry hop on the back end ... has some sugary and juicy fruit flavors ... finish is bitter, dank and rindy ..... lots of lingering grapefruit and orange .... sessionable and decent, but this experiment could have gone better
