12oz bottle. Copper pour, thin white head. Lots of tropical sherbet notes on the nose - plenty of sweet orange - sweet caramel and pine resin too. Zingy grapefruit and orange in the taste, big slab of pine resin, light red berry. Decent caramel to balance, but not overpower. Lingering sherbet fruitiness and resiny pine. Solid bitterness. This is good stuff. asheft (3098) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 21, 2013
Bottle. Spicy tropical and cat pee hops aroma in front of a caramel malt backbone. Almost clear reddish amber under a thin, white sheet. Spicy citrus and pine flavour with a strong spicy melanoidin and caramel backbone and a medium bitterness. Clean fermentation. Medium body, medium carbonation, slight lingering bitterness. Pours dark red with a white foam. Immediate aroma of pine. Initial taste of pine needles. The pine continues after swallowing. And stays on the tongue.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid dark muddy brown, turbid, with clingy off-tan head. Nose is earthy caramel malt, vinous fruit, hops. Tastes earthy, caramel malty, with an overall hoppy and vinous fruity flavor. Finishes resiny hoppy and dry. illidurit (2347) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 14, 2013

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass. Appearance is an amber color with a thin-ish beige head. Aroma is wonderful tropical and citrus hops: grapefruit, mango, pine, etc. Just beautiful. Taste is a bit more piney than the aroma, but heavy on the citrus hops. However, while the taste is mostly hops, they are hardly overwhelming. Just a wonderful all-around IPA. Delicious and easy to drink. Jay_Dubbz (103) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 12, 2013
Draft beer at Bar-Ly in Philadelphia, PA. Really nice offering from Sierra Nevada. Graey hop flavor with a nice smooth opening and hoppy bite at the finish. Really easy drinking beer.

Pint, BJs San Bruno, CA, 02/11/13. Very lacy clear jelly red. Good, slightly catty, musky hop nose with berries and pine. Dry grapefruit and berries flavour with forest floor conifer and underpinning nut. Pleasing if not quite optimal pre-flight refreshment. Solid sugary malt aroma, but even more resinous hops. Deep copper color, fine haze. My is it chalked out with bitterness, yet finish has a nice sweet ring to it as well. Crisp, snapping body. Not sure if these ’red hoppy’ beers will get their own category soon. This one is a very bitter amber. Gachupines (1252) - USA - NOV 11, 2013
Reddish amber color with a thick white head. Aroma is light hops with a touch of caramel. Flavor is slightly fruity hops, very bright with a bit of toasted caramel. A bit nutty in the finish.
