3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Keg at the Earl of Essex, London. Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Sweet, doughy malts in the nose, some berries, Belgian yeast. Big sweet flavor with white bread, apples, very light tang, yeasty dough, hints of white grapes. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming finish with more rich, doughy malts, some white sugar and white grapes, slightly underripe apples, some golden raisins. Very light musty dryness in the aftertaste. It’s a very tasty beer. Pretty hefty stuff, but tasty and nicely nuanced.
On tap at EoE, London. It pours a clear golden colour with one finger worth of head. Aroma is sweetish and funky with lots of citrus and white wine, cellar notes. Some Brett on the nose as well. Taste is similarly sweetish upfront with some closing dryness. Again, Brett citrus and barnyard flavours. Some woody white wine notes. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Overall, very nice and balanced saison!

Reviewed from recently rediscovered notes. Light gold with a small white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, yeast, and spice. Flavor is earthy hops, sweet fruits, light floral, and a bit of spice. Enjoyable. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - JUL 22, 2012
Sampled on 5/26/2012. This saison pours a light gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with a touch of yeast and spices. A medium bodied saison. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice carbonation. A touch sweet and a touch yeasty. Not really spicy enough for a saison, its more of a Belgian ale somewhere between a blond and a dubble. Very easy drinking. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

On tap at Whole Foods Coddingtown. It pours clear gold with a small white head. The aroma is very fruity with dried apricots and light notes of spicy yeast. The flavor has more dried fruit with hints of white pepper and lots of fruity sweetness. Full on the palate and too sweet IMO. This bodes well for development of the brett in BRUX. Can’t wait to see how that one goes.

On tap at Churchkey. Served in a mini snifter. Pours a clear golden color with a nice white head and a good bit of lacing on the way down. The nose carries some straw and hay notes alongside a bit of earth and some light floral and herbal characteristics. Flavor has pilsner malt and some hay. Damp earthiness to the background. Light-medium body. Nice beer; I’m excited to try the collaboration. GT (10001) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 5, 2012
Tap at CK. Really would have rarely had the BRUX than this one. Pours brilliant golden, small head formation- a ring of bubbles on the edge of the glass. Higher carbonation on the palate. Nose is sharp candi sugar, Belgian tripel yeast, booze, yellow apples, pears. Taste is boozy, sweet, candi sugar, spicy yeast. Essentially a spicy Abbey Tripel. No off flavors. Stickier and sweet. Has plenty of residual sugar to go through a secondary wild fermentation. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 5, 2012
Draft. Minimal white head atop crystal clear apple juice body. Aroma is moderately sweet, candi sugar, some spice, orange, light anise. Taste is moderately sweet, candi sugar, some spice, orange. Low carbonation, medium body, some stickiness. oteyj (2139) - New Hampshire, USA - JUN 4, 2012
On tap at Churchkey for the tap takeover. Clear golden straw pour with a medium white head. Green apple and white grape champagne like notes lead to doughy stone fruit and white grape juice by Welches. Pretty damn good actually.
